PURPOSE:To improve magnetic characteristics and practicable characteristics and to enable dealing with high-density recording by forming a thin film of a Co-Pd alloy having a specific compsn. as a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The thin alloy film consisting of 10-40atom.% Co and 60-90atom.% Pd is formed as the magnetic layer. Namely, the thin alloy film which constitutes the magnetic layer can be expressed by the general formula Cox.Pd100-x (where x denotes the compsn. by atom.% and is 10

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element whose mass-productivity can be improved. SOLUTION: When the liquid crystal display element having both an alignment film containing silicon oxide and vertically aligned liquid crystal 40 is manufactured, a plurality injection ports 52 are provided to a sealing material 50 and then the vertically aligned liquid crystal 40 is injected into a space P through the plurality of injection ports 52 by using a differential pressure injecting method. Even when the interval (cell gap) between a silicon driving element substrate 10 and a transparent electrode substrate 20 becomes temporarily narrow under the influence of stress due to surface tension and inner/outer differential pressure during the stage of injecting the vertically aligned liquid crystal 40, the quantity of narrowing of the cell gap is less than that when a single injection port is provided, so the time needed to put the cell gap back into its initial state becomes shorter. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device for which long-term reliability of display performance is ensured by stabilizing alignment characteristics of a vertical alignment liquid crystal over an extended period of time. SOLUTION: An alignment layer 30 contains a moisture capturing element (for example, a passive state forming element) together with silicon oxide. Even when water invades the inside of a liquid crystal display element via the alignment layer 30, as the moisture capturing element contained in the alignment layer 30 captures the water, the water scarcely reaches the vertical alignment liquid crystal 40 during an operating process of the liquid crystal display element over an extended period of time. Consequently the alignment characteristics of the vertical alignment liquid crystal 40 scarcely changes in respose to influence of the water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of an alignment layer in a liquid crystal display element provided with a light reflection electrode. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display element 1 having a first substrate 10 having a transparent electrode 11, a second substrate 20 having the light reflection electrode 21 and a liquid crystal L enclosed between a prescribed gap in such a state that the first and the second substrates 10 and 20 are stuck to each other at an interval of the prescribed gap so that the transparent electrode 11 and the light reflection electrode 21 are opposed to each other, the alignment layer 22 is formed on the light reflection electrode 21 in such a state that a naturally oxidized film on the surface of the light reflection electrode 21 is removed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual image with a shape suitable to a video. SOLUTION: In the case a video is broadcasted as a movie and a drama having an aspect ratio of 16:9 by a high definition television broadcast, in the display device 4, a large virtual image is formed in a position far away from a user by about 15m. Alternatively, in case that a video is broadcasted as a television signal having an aspect ratio of 4:3 by an NTSC system, in the display device 4, a middle-sized virtual image is formed in a position comparatively close to the user by about 3m. Whether the video is broadcasted by the high-definition television broadcast or the NTSC system is decided based on the synchronizing signal of the television signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent coloration when color lights modulated by a plurality of liquid crystal display elements are put together into one picture. SOLUTION: A picture is displayed on a screen S by providing liquid crystal display panels 5R, 5G, and 5B which modulate color lights R, G, and B corresponding to the primary colors of red, green, and blue and a composing prism which puts the color lights R, G, and B modulated by the respective color display panels 5R, 5G, and 5B together into one picture; and the orientation direction X2 of the liquid crystal panel 5G whose picture is inverted to the other liquid crystal display panels 5G and 5G is made different from the orientation direction X1 of the other liquid crystal display panels 5R and 5B so that the orientation directions X1 and X2 of the respective liquid crystal display panels 5R, 5G, and 5B match one another. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize long-term reliability by improving the electrical characteristics caused by structure of an oblique vapor deposition alignment film, while alignment characteristics by the oblique vapor deposition alignment film is maintained and by suppressing conduction of ions and the like through the alignment film. SOLUTION: The oblique vapor deposition alignment layers 33B and 43B are laminated via vertical vapor deposition films 33A and 43A on the surface sides in contact with a vertical alignment liquid crystal 45 of a transparent electrode substrate 30 and a pixel electrode substrate 40. Since the vertical vapor deposition films 33A and 43A are formed as base layers, electrical characteristics caused by the film structure are improved, while the alignment characteristics by the oblique vapor deposition alignment films 33B and 43B are maintained and the conducting of ions and the like through the oblique vapor deposition alignment films 33B and 43B is suppress to realize long-term reliability. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a battery effect which becomes the factor of the asymmetry of liquid crystal responsiveness, to lower offset voltage applied to driving voltage and to secure high reliability even in the case of performing long-term driving. SOLUTION: Material whose standard electrode potential has a value comparatively near to the standard electrode potential of an opposed transparent electrode is used as a pixel electrode 42A. Thus, the battery effect between the opposed electrodes is restrained in comparison with the conventional element using aluminum or the like as the electrode 42A. Therefore, the asymmetry of the liquid crystal responsiveness is restrained and the offset voltage required for the driving voltage is reduced in comparison with the conventional element. Thus, a circuit for applying the offset voltage is simplified or dispensable, and the long-term reliability at the time of driving is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
