Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct a phase shift automatically even should a phase shift be caused between the moving distances of two racks so as to try to move a recording medium carrier member again by providing a tooth missing part to one of the two racks. CONSTITUTION:If a phase shift is caused between racks 9, 9' when a cassette carrier 7 falls on a loading end position, since the cassette carrier 7 is descended with a tilt attitude, only a detection switch 82 outputs a prescribed signal. Then a motor is reversed to restore the cassette carrier 7 to the eject position. When the cassette carrier 7 rides on a horizontal part of its moving locus, a tooth missing part 78 formed to the right side rack 9' is opposed to the right side feed gear 11' soon and the right side rack 9' is released from the meshing with the feed fear 11' temporarily. Then the cassette carrier 7 is moved by just one pitch backward by the backward moving torque, the phase between the left/right racks 9, 9' is arranged and the cassette carrier 7 is moved to the eject position in such a state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To constitute thinly a VTR by shifting the inner/outer frames in a single body in the horizontal direction, and further, shifting the inner frame in the upper and lower directions while the frame is maintained in the horizontal condition by a synchronizing mechanism assembled between the inner and outer frames. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette C is inserted into the cassette holder composed of inner outer frames 21 and 12 and the starting button is pushed, by the rotation of the counter-clock-wise direction of a main gear pair 3 to gear with a rack gear 22 of both sides of the lower surface of the inner frame 21, the inner outer frames are unified and sent in the direction in VTR. Next, when the gear 3 is geared with the vertical part of the gear 22, the outer frame 12 ceases to shift, the inner frame 21 is shifted in the lower direction by the guiding of a synchronizing gear 17 and a rack gear 25 of the right and left synchronizing mechanism, a reel stand 5 is protruded from a hole and fitted to the reel of the cassette. Consequently, the dimensions in the upper and lower directions of a synchronizing mechanism to elevate the inner frame 21 can be shortly formed, the VTR main body can be made thin.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the upper end edge of a tape from being pressed to an opening upper edge and broken during a tape pulling out operation by setting the opening upper edge of a tape outlet at a position deviation from an opening internal edge having a tape guide surface rearward of a cassette casing. CONSTITUTION:While a tape 10 is pulled outward of a tape outlet 90 from both tape guide surfaces 32, if a loading pin 95 or the like do not move with a normal condition correcly maintained as shown by full lines but incline in an arrow direction X as shown by chain lines, the upper end edge 96 of the tape 10 is prevented from being pressed onto an opening upper edge 92 of the tape outlet 90 and broken. The opening upper edge 92 is set at a position deviated by distance (l) backward of an opening inner edge 93. Thereby, even if the tape 10 is mover upward (Y direction as shown by an arrow) the upper end edge 96 of the tape 10 is not pressed onto the opening upper edge 92 and the damage of the upper end edge 96of the tape 10 can be prevented.

Thus, the front space factor of the tape cassette in the cassette loading position is increased more than that of a conventional system, allowing to make the size of a video tape recorder small.
