    Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct a phase shift automatically even should a phase shift be caused between the moving distances of two racks so as to try to move a recording medium carrier member again by providing a tooth missing part to one of the two racks. CONSTITUTION:If a phase shift is caused between racks 9, 9' when a cassette carrier 7 falls on a loading end position, since the cassette carrier 7 is descended with a tilt attitude, only a detection switch 82 outputs a prescribed signal. Then a motor is reversed to restore the cassette carrier 7 to the eject position. When the cassette carrier 7 rides on a horizontal part of its moving locus, a tooth missing part 78 formed to the right side rack 9' is opposed to the right side feed gear 11' soon and the right side rack 9' is released from the meshing with the feed fear 11' temporarily. Then the cassette carrier 7 is moved by just one pitch backward by the backward moving torque, the phase between the left/right racks 9, 9' is arranged and the cassette carrier 7 is moved to the eject position in such a state.

CONSTITUTION:While a tape 10 is pulled outward of a tape outlet 90 from both tape guide surfaces 32, if a loading pin 95 or the like do not move with a normal condition correcly maintained as shown by full lines but incline in an arrow direction X as shown by chain lines, the upper end edge 96 of the tape 10 is prevented from being pressed onto an opening upper edge 92 of the tape outlet 90 and broken. The opening upper edge 92 is set at a position deviated by distance (l) backward of an opening inner edge 93. Thereby, even if the tape 10 is mover upward (Y direction as shown by an arrow) the upper end edge 96 of the tape 10 is not pressed onto the opening upper edge 92 and the damage of the upper end edge 96of the tape 10 can be prevented.
