Then, the controller 8 inserts a code indicating a turning back into a marker signal included in a sub-code supplied to the fixed contact (b) of a switch 19' at the time of the recording setting time T, switches a switch 10 to the contact (b) side and reverses the traverse of a tape. In such a way, at the time of the recording setting time during a recording, it is turned back and recorded, so that at the time of a reproduction it is not required to rewind but to simply treat it and improve operability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a wide opening onto which an optical pickup device, etc., face and reduce the size of a disc cartridge by a method wherein the opening is provided so as to have an inclination from a direction in which the disc cartridge is inserted. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge main part 4 is a thin housing composed of a pair of an upper half 2 and a lower half which are made to butt against each other. An opening 11 onto which a disc turning driving means and an optical pickup device 13 which are built in a recording/reproducing apparatus face is provided in the main surface of the lower half. The opening 11 is formed from the center part of a recording disc 1 so as to have an inclination from a direction in which the cartridge is inserted. That is, the opening 11 has an inclination angle smaller than 45 degrees from a straight line which passes through the center of the recording disc 1 and is vertical to the direction in which a shutter is transferred.

Video audio multiplexers/ demultiplexers 81-83 multiplex video data and audio data fed from the processing circuits 51-53 and output the result to a channel multiplexer/ demultiplexer 91. The channel multiplexer/demultiplexer 91 applies time division multiplexing to three channel data received from the multiplexers/demultiplexers 81-83 to synthesize them to one channel data. Thus, the digital video signal for plural channels is compressed and multiplexed in this way and the result is recorded on the same track.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply adjust the height of a fixed head with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A track T1 where the control signal is recorded is formed on an adjustment tape together with the tracks T2 and T3 where the sine wave signals of frequency f2 and f3 are recorded. The center position of the T2 is coincident with the height of the upper end of a control heed Hc decided by a format, and the width of the T2 is coincident with an allowable error range. The height of the heed Hc is increased (position A) and a fact that the reproduced signals include the components of the frequency f2 and f3 is confirmed. At the same time, the level of the f2 is read. Then the height of the head Hc is reduced down to such a level where the component level, of the f2 is halved. Thus the height of the upper end of the head Hc is set equal to that decided by the format (position B). Thus the height of the heed Hc is adjusted based on the components of both f2 and f3 not on the level of the reproduction signal only. In such a way, the height of the head Hc can be simply adjusted with high accuracy.
