    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the extremely high reproduced output of the magneto- resistance effect type magnetic head having magneto-resistance effect elements arranged in such a manner that a magnetosensitive current flows in a direction perpendicular to a magnetic recording medium surface by enhancing the conversion efficiency of the signal magnetic fluxes from this recording medium to the magnetic fields in the magneto-resistance effect elements. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-resistance effect elements formed with the average value Wb of the element width in the magnetosensitive region in the upper part of the medium side flanks (front end of the magneto-resistance effect elements) narrower than the element width Wa of these flanks are used. As a result, the vertical type magneto-resistance effect type magnetic head for reproducing high-density recording signals having the reproduced output better than the reproduced output of the conventional vertical type magneto-resistance effect type magnetic head is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To speedily transfer the information signals of a master disk to the other magnetic disk by adhering the master disk to the disk to be transferred and impressing a bias magnetic field to the disk to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:Master disks 2 and 3, to which the information signals are written, are adhered to a disk 1 to be transferred by supporting bars 4 and 5. The disk 1 is a double-side disk and can write the mutually different information signals to the signal recording layers of the respective sides. A magnetic field impressing coil 6 is provided to impress the bias magnetic field to the disk 1 adhered to the disks 2 and 3. By supplying power, this coil 6 forms the bias magnetic field orthogonal to the main face parts of the disks 1, 2 and 3. Thus, the information signals written in the master disks as magnetic signals are transferred to the disks to be transferred regardless of the capacity of the disk.

CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording medium used as the master medium is formed in such a way that plural layers of metallic magnetic thin film 2, 3 are formed on a nonmagnetic supporting body 1 and the inclining direction of the columnar structure of neighboring metallic magnetic film 2 is formed so as to be set in a direction opposite to that of the columnar structure of the metallic magnetic thin film 3. Meanwhile, an application type magnetic recording medium using the hexagonal system ferrite powder is used as the slave medium, and the magnetic layer can be formed by applying the powder to the nonmagnetic supporting body. Thereby, high transfer reproducing output can be secured even in a short wave area, and also, asymmetric property in the master medium can be eliminated, and the error rate due to phase deviation, etc., can be decreased.
