Also, a pair of projections of the cover 90 are engaged with the guide groove 80a at the upper and lower terminal planes of the pedestal 80. Thereby, it is possible to improve the fine spectacle around the operating buttons 81-84 when the cover 90 is opened/closed, and to improve the beautiful appearance of the VTR main body.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve operability by providing a view finder at a VTR main body in such a way that it can be erected and inclined freely against the VTR main body, and provided a recording button at a part hidden with the view finder when the VTR main body is inclined. A reproducing signal from the head chip 14 on the head base 13 is amplified immediately at the signal amplifier circuit 15. In such a way, the influence of the fogging from another circuit, etc., can be reduced, and the sound or the image superior than ever can be reproduced.

That is, the presence/absence of a white peak part above 100% in the signal Sp is examined, and in case the absence is judged, the backlight correction is decided to be unnecessary, but in case of necessity judged, the black level is compared with a specified value. When the black level is higher than the specified value, the backlight correction is decided to be unnecessary, but when lower, whether proportion occupied by the white peak part is higher than a determined value or not is decided. If the proportion of the white peak part is lower than the value, the backlight correction is decided to be unnecessary, but if larger, the computer 10 decides on the necessity for backlight correction, hence a backlight detection signal S1 is outputted to a processing circuit.

If a main power supply is cut off while the part 4 is kept at the 1st position, an indication is given to shift the part 4 to the 2nd position through the operation of a control panel 3. Thus the main power supply is applied to move the part 4 to the 2nd position. In such a way, the operation of a recording/reproducing device is simplified.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To pull a recording/reproducing part concurrently with selection of a mode and to simplify the operation of a tape recorder, by securing such constitution where a tape cassette is loaded after the recording/reproducing part is pulled out to a prescribed position outside a housing and then shifted to a pull-in position within the housing with push of a mode switch.
CONSTITUTION: A mechanical chassis 4 containing a recording/reproducing device is moved forward to a prescribed pull-out position by the reverse revolution of a motor 50 via a gear 19 and a rack 17. At the same time, rotary arms 21 and 34 are rotated in the direction opposite to the recording/reproducing part. Then a cassette inserting part 41 moves upward. A tape cassette is put into the part 41 with its front side set first. The motor 50 is rotated forward with operation of a prescribed switch, and the part 41 is shifted toward the recording/reproducing side together with the arms 21 and 34. The positioning holes of a cassette housing are set at positioning pins 13 and 13'. Thus the cassette is positioned correctly. A mode button gives a command for action mode as well as a pull-in command of the chassis 4. Thus the motor 50 is revolved forward with push of the mode button. Then the chassis 4 is pulled into a prescribed position.
