    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the tendency to come to a low molecular weight by using at least a pair of electrodes, an electrolyte, and a polyolefin type separator, to form an electric element, and including 0.001 to 5wt.% of oxidation preventive agent for polyolefin at least in the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:In an electric element in which a polyolefin type separator is used for the separator of a cell, an electrolyte capacitor, an electric double- layer capacitor, and the like, 0.001 to 5wt.% of an oxidation preventive agent for polyolefin is included at least in the electrolyte. As a result, the separator is protected from the oxygen, the radical, and the like generated in the element, and the tendency to make a low molecular weight owing to the oxidation deteri oration is suppressed, the deterioration of mechanical strength is minimized, and the solution of the low molecular weight substance into the electrolyte is reduced even though the element is used for a long period high temperature service. In this case, as the polyolefin type resin, polyethylene, polypropylene, or the like is used, and as the electrolyte, non-proton type solvent is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a retaining characteristic of an electrolyte, to reduce a change in its characteristic after the passage of many hours and to reduce a trouble caused by a drying-up phenomenon of the electrolyte by a method wherein an average hole diameter, porosity, an oil-absorbing height of liquid paraffin and a permeating duration of the liquid paraffin of a polyolefin film are made optimum. CONSTITUTION:A separator is made of a polyolefin-based fine-pore film whose average hole diameter is 0.05-5mum, whose porosity is 0.50-0.85, whose oil- absorbing height of liquid paraffin in a longitudinal direction is 7mm or more and whose permeating duration of the liquid paraffin in a thickness direction is 0.1-5 seconds. It is preferable to use polyolefin whose molten crystallization temperature is 106 deg.C or higher. By this setup, it is possible to improve a retaining characteristic of an electrolyte and to reduce a change in its electric characteristic after the passage of many hours when the liquid has been incorporated into an electrolytic capacitor.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title film useful as a separator of an electrolytic capacitor of a battery or the like, melt-molding a mixture of a polyolefin resin with a specified extractable substance, extracting it from the film with a specified solvent and stretching this film. CONSTITUTION:In a process comprising melt-molding a mixture of a polyolefin resin (A) with an extractable substance (B) and extracting substance B with a solvent which is a poor solvent for resin A but a good solvent for substance B, said substance B is an organic solid having an M.p. of 35-100 deg.C and an MW of 200-1,000 and containing a polarizable or polar group and is blended in an amount of 80-180pts.vol. per 100pts.vol. resin A, and a step of stretching the film at least uniaxially at a stretch ratio of 2-10 is included before or after extraction. In this way, the title film having continuous microporores of an average pore diameter of 0.05-5mu can be obtained and suitably used as a separator of an electrolytic capacitor of a battery or the like. Examples of desirable resin A include PP of an intrinsic viscosity of 2.1-3.3dl/g and an isotactic index >=97%, and examples of substance B include dicyclohexyl phthalate.
