    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film provided with uniform surface projections without voids by a method wherein a layer mainly composed of a polyester A is laminated on one surface of a layer mainly composed of a polyester B, and fine projections are formed on the surface by crystallizing the polyester. CONSTITUTION:A film is obtained by laminating a layer A mainly composed of a polyester A on one surface of a layer B mainly composed of a polyester B. On the surface of the layer A, projections caused by its microcrystallization are formed. The layer A is laminated with a thickness not more than 3mum. The polyester A is microcrystallized to form 70% or more of the surface projections of the layer A. The crystallizing parameter A Tcg of the polyester A is up to and including 70 deg.C and lower than the crystallizing parameter DELTATcg of the polyester B.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve traveling properties and protrusion breaking strength, to reduce a decrease in picture quality and to improve dubbling performance of a biaxially oriented laminated film by forming the film in a laminated structure of three or more layers, incorporating special particles in an outermost layer of its one side surface, and simultaneously processing means such as enhancing intrinsic viscosity of the outermost layer part. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented laminated film is formed of a laminated structure of at least three or more layers. In this case, particles are contained at least in an outermost layer of its one side surface of the film. The relationship between a mean particle size (d) (mum) of the particle and a thickness(t) of the outermost layer is so set as to satisfy 0.2d -2X10 /mm . Further, intrinsic viscosity of the outermost layer of at least one side surface is set to higher than that of an intermediate layer. Thus, fine protrusions on the surface of the film are optimized to improve traveling properties and protrusion breaking strength, a decrease in picture quality at the time of using it as a magnetic medium is reduced, and its dubbing performance is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a film with a good winding property and dubbing property by controlling the relationship between the thickness of a thermoplastic resin layer containing particles and the average particle size as well as the number of peaks which exsist on the surface of the layer and have diameters in a given range within a specified limits, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A layer (layer A) of a thermoplastic resin A containing particles is laminated on at least one surface of a layer (layer B) of a thermoplastic resin B. The ratio t/d of the thickness t of the layer A to the average particle size d of the particles contained in the thermoplastic resin A is 0.1-5; the number of peaks which exist on the surface of the layer A and have diameters from 0.7mum to 2.6mum is 100-10,000/mm; the ratio L/S of the number L of peaks which have diameters from 0.7mum to 2.6mum to the number S of peaks which have diameters of 0.2mum or more and less than 0.7mum is 1/50-1/10,000. In this way, when the film is wound up into a roll in film making, slitting, or other processing steps, the generation of winding wrinkles and end face dislocation is prevented so that the transfer speed of the film in each processing step can be increased.
