    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent slipperiness and giving a fiber, etc., having low void content because of excellent adhesivity and affinity of the composition to particles by carrying out ester interchange reaction, in the presence of particles having an ester-interchangeable group attached to the particle by a specific method. CONSTITUTION:Particles to be added to a polyester (preferably calcium carbonate, etc.) is surface-treated with a monophthalate ester of formula (R is 1-20C alkyl, alkylene hydroxide or polyether) to attach an ester-interchangeable functional group to the particle. The objective composition is produced by carrying out ester-interchange reaction of a dicarboxylic acid composed mainly of aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its ester-forming derivative with a glycol, and subjecting the reaction product to polycondensation reaction. The treatment of the particle can by carried out e.g. by adding a monophthalate ester to a system for the wet dispersion treatment of calcium carbonate particles.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, having excellent slipperiness and abrasion resistance and especially suitable as magnetic tapes, by homogeneously dispersing calcium carbonate particles having calcium phosphate formed on at least part of the surfaces in a thermoplastic polyester. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester composition obtained by homogeneously dispersing (A) calcium carbonate particles prepared by mixing, e.g., calcium carbonate particles (0.01-5mum average particle diameter when a molded product is a film or fiber) with ethylene glycol, etc., reacting the resultant slurry with dilute phosphoric acid (e.g., orthophosphoric acid) while stirring the resultant slurry and forming calcium phosphate in an amount of preferably 0.01-100pts. wt., more preferably 0.1-30pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. calcium carbonate particles in (B) a thermoplastic polyester [preferably consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate (PETP)]. The component (A) is preferably added before ester interchange reaction of the component (B), etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer having excellent surface flatness, surface slipperiness, abrasion resistance, etc., and suitable for fiber, etc., by adding silica alumina particles having a specific particle diameter, a phosphorus compound and an alkali metal compound, etc. in the form of a slurry to a polymerization system and carrying out the polymerization. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer can be produced by compounding (A) 0.01-3.0pts.wt. (based on 100pts.wt. of polyester) of a silica alumina (e.g. kaolinite) having an average particle diameter of 0.02-5.0mu with (B) 0.01-40pts. wt. (based on 100pts.wt. of the component A) of a mixture of (i) a phosphorus compound (e.g. pyrophosphoric acid) and (ii) an alkali metal compound (e.g. sodium hydroxide), slurring the obtained mixture in e.g. glycol under ultrasonic vibration and adding the slurry to a polymerization system of polyethylene terephthalate. An alkali metal salt of a phosphorus compound (e.g. sodium pyrophosphate) may be used in place of the component B.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a microporous resin film at a low cost without steps of extracting the pore-forming substance from the resin and of recovering it, which process comprises dispersing the resin in water and removing the dispersion water from the crosslinked resin. SOLUTION: This microporous film is obtained by supplying high-pressure water or supercritical water to a molten resin in the mid course of extrusion, extruding the mixture after melt kneading into a sheet, cooling the sheet, and heating the sheet to boil off the water from the crosslinked resin sheet. The resin used is exemplified by a thermoplastic resin selected from among a polyolefin, a polyamide, a polyphenylene sulfide, a vinyl polymer, a mixture thereof, and a modification thereof and is particularly desirably a polyolefin resin. Further, the resin is desirably a water-crosslinkable resin which forms a crosslinkage when reacted with water or a special melt-extrudable olefin crosslinked resin. It is desirable that the resin is pre-mixed with a water absorbent because the pre-mix can give a microporous film having a small mean pore diameter and a sharp pore diameter distribution. It is desirable that the water used contains a surfactant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rapid casting or uniform orienting or the like of a sheet by casting so that a holding angle between a tangential line drawn on a moving cooling medium at a contact point of a sheet with the medium and a tangential line drawn to a corresponding circle of an orbit of the sheet becomes specific. SOLUTION: A polyamide raw material obtained by mixing a liquid crystal polymer or the like with a polyesteramide or the like is dried, dehydrated, then melt extruded in a nitrogen flow or in vacuum by a melt extruder without lowering a molecular weight, ionomers are laminated on both surfaces of a polyamide resin layer, and the obtained laminated melt sheet 7 is cooled and solidified by a moving cooling medium 2. Thus, a holding angle 6 between a tangential line 4 drawn at a contact point P of a melt sheet 7 extruded from a mouth 1 and the medium 2 and a tangential line 5 drawn at a point P of an imaginary corresponding circle 3 including as many locusses of the melts as possible exceeds 0 degree. Before the sheet 7 is brought into contact with the medium 2, a water membrane or static charge is formed on the medium 2, the sheet 7 is brought into contact with a drum and quenched. Thus, rapid casting can be achieved, and excellent homogeneity of a thickness of and stretchability of the film can be obtained.
