    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a composite reverse osmosis membrane which uses a membrane-forming solvent with a low ozone layer destruction modulus, and has properties such as high organic substance removal rate, high desalting performance and high water permeability as superb heat resistance, resistance against solvent and chemical. CONSTITUTION:Microporous supporting membrane is obtained by making a membrane in a wet state using a solution containing a polymer expressed by formula(Ph-S)-m-(Ph-SO2)n-. (in the formula, Ph is a phenylene group; m,n are natural number), lithium salt and aprotic polar organic solvent. On this mioroporous supporting membrane, a cross-linking polyamide active layer obtained by surface polycondensation using polyfunctional amine and polyfunctional acylhalide dissolved in 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane is applied to obtain a composite reverse osmosis membrane.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a production method for a composite translucent membrane having high desalting property, water permeability and resistance against oxidizing agent, especially, excellent in resistances against chlorine, chloramine, and hydrogen peroxide. CONSTITUTION:A crosslinked polyamide super-thin film layer is formed on a fiber-reinforced polysulfone fine porous supporting membrane. This crosslinked polyamide is obtd. by interfacial polycondensation of polyfunctional acid halide compd. and polyfunctional aromatic amine having two or more amino groups in one molecule. Then, the obtd. membrane is treated with the aq. soln. of peroxymono compd. or peroxy disulfuric acid compd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an oxygen absorbable disc optimum for providing on the rear surface of the cap of a container by a structure wherein the transmission speed of oxygen to an oxygen absorber is held high under the condition that the oxygen absorber is surely screened from the contents of the container and the high oxygen absorbing performance can be revealed at use. CONSTITUTION:The disc concerned is one provided on the rear surface of the cap of a container and a laminate consisting at least of an oxygen absorber layer 1, which is prepared by imbedding oxygen absorber in resin, and an oxygen transmission layer 2, which is positioned on the container interior side of the oxygen absorber layer 1 and has unsymmetrical porous layer with thin dense film layer on the container interior side in the direction of thickness.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polymer molding excellent in durability such as heat and solvent resistances under mild conditions by oxidizing a molding of a polymer having sulfide bonds in the main chain with a persulfuric acid compound solution. CONSTITUTION:A molding of a polymer having sulfide bonds in the main chain [a polymer of the formula (wherein m and n are each an integer of 0 or greater; and ph is an aromatic ring)] is oxidized with an aqueous solution of a persulfuric acid compound [e.g. a mixture of KHSO5: KHSO4: K2SO4=2:1:1 (molar ratio)]. It is desirable that the oxidation temperature in the above reaction be 50-80 deg.C. By using the above process, a polymer molding excellent in durability such as heat and solvent resistances can be produced under safe and mild conditions, and especially an ultrafilter membrane excellent in heat and solvent resistances can be supplied at good efficiency.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain a high desalting ability and stable water permeability by providing a conjugate semipermeable membrane prepared by forming the ultrathin layer of a cross-linked polyamide consisting of the multifunctional aromatic amine and multifunctional halide on a microporous supporting fabric. CONSTITUTION:DMF solution preferably of polysulfone is cast to a predetermined thickness on the microporous supporting fabric consisting mainly of at least a member selected from polyester or aromatic polyamide. The surface of the porous supporting fabric is coated with an aqueous solution of the aromatic amide (such as m-phenylene diamine and/or 1,3,5-triamino benzene, etc.) having 2 or more amino groups in one molecule as an ultrathin layer of the conjugate semipermeable membrane having a substantial separability. After removal of the excessive squeous amine solution, it is then coated with the organic solvent of multifunctional halide (such as 1,3,5-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid, etc.) to form the ultrathin layer of a cross-linked polyamide by interfacial polymerization, whereby the conjugate semipermeable membrane having a high desalting ability and stable water permeability can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To selectively remove a pollutant or an effective substance by coating a microporous support membrane with a very thin membrane based on piperazine polyamide and ethylenediamine polyamide polycondensed with a bifunctional acid halide. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. contg. 0.2-1.0wt.%, in total, of piperazine and ethylenediamine in >=1.0 molar ratio of ethylenediamine to piperazine is prepd. and a compd. represented by formula I (where each of A and A' is a benzene or naphthalene ring and X is -O- or -CH2-) is added to the soln. by 0.01-1.0wt.%. The resulting soln. is applied to a microporous support membrane, a multifunctional acid halide soln. is further applied and a cross linked polymer layer is formed as an active layer by polycondensation to produce a laminated semipermeable membrane.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject polyphenylene oxide suitable as a material for a separation membrane having excellent chlorine resistance and high rejection ratio by silyl-esterifying the carboxylic acid group of a poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4- phenylene oxide) containing carboxylic acid group. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyphenylene oxide having improved solubility and intermolecular cohesive force can be produced by reacting a poly(2,6- dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) containing carboxylic acid group with chlorosilane in the presence of a tert-amine (preferably triethylamine, etc.) using tetrahydrofuran as a reaction solvent, thereby esterifying at least one of the carboxylic acid groups with 1-18C alkyl-dimethylsilyl groups.
