Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cloth printer and a cassette without cloth clogging occurring by attaching colorant to a printing tape consisting of cloth and adhesive agent, providing a platen roll on an opposite side and providing at least a feed roll on a direction for feeding the tape. CONSTITUTION:A printing tape 20 consists of a cloth tape 20a and an adhesive tape 20b, wherein the printing tape 20 moves together with a thermal transfer ribbon 12 while it is guided between a platen roll 12 and a thermal transfer printer head 5, the colorant of the ribbon 12 is transferred onto the cloth tape 20a by the head 5 and printed. When head pressure is applied to improve printing, the printing tape 20 having adhesion is attached to the platen roll, making peeling difficult and likely to cause cloth clogging with the tape rolled in. Thus feed rolls 3a, 3b having at least one release ability are provided toward the tape fed direction from the platen roll, thereby making the peeling of the tape 20 easy.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an image having excellent washing resistance and friction resistance by forming the image on a recording carrier by dye carrier particles holding dyes and shifting the dyes to the recording carrier. CONSTITUTION:The image is formed on the recording carrier by an electrophotographic method, etc., using the dye carrier particles having electrostatic chargeability. The image is then heated to shift the dyes held by the dye carrier particles to the recording carrier and to dye the recording carrier. Dye carrier particles having such fine pores to allow the reversible holding and desorbing of the dyes or the particles having a property to reversibly adsorb the dyes on the surfaces are used as the dye carrier particles. Such dyes include, for example, zeolite, kaolin, SIRASU porous glass, etc., or polymer particles of a styrene system, acrylate system, methacrylate system, etc. The sublimatable dyes which are liable to shift to the recording carrier are used as the dyes. The recording carrier is preferably cloths made of natural fibers, synthetic fibers, etc., and polymer films made of polyester, etc.
