    Abstract: PURPOSE:To maximize the detection/correction capability of a reed solomon code and to simplify the titled unit by providing a coding section generating a check word and a decoding section calculating erasure error pattern. CONSTITUTION:In case of the coding using a reed solomon code, a data word constituting a code series written in a RAM 17 is sent to a coding section 13, where a check word is generated and added and the result is sent again. In this case, the coding section 13 sends a coding end signal to an address generating section 14, where the next address is generated and sequential coding is applied. In case of decoding, a word of one code series stored in a RAM 22 is fed to a decoding section 23, an erasure error pattern is calculated and the erasure error correction for a data word in an input word is applied. In this case, the decoding section 23 gives a decoding end signal to an address generating section 24, where the next address is generated and the decoding is applied sequentially. Thus, the detection/correction capability of the reed solomon code is maximized and the unit is simplified.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a stable voltage from a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) by providing a means shifting the level of an output voltage of an operational amplifier in a loop filter and inputting a voltage subject to level shift to the VCO so as to use the circuit even when an output voltage of the operational amplifier is not coincident with the input voltage of the VCO. CONSTITUTION:The operational amplifier 7a is used for a wide band, outputs an output voltage around OV and an output of the operational amplifier 7a connects to a base B of a transistor (TR) 21. A collector C of the TR 21 connects to a voltage Vcc, a Zener diode 22 connects to the emitter E and the other end of the Zener diode 22 is connected between a resistor 8 and the VCO 12. The Zener diode 22 is used to obtain a constant voltage and a resistor 23 is provided to a loop filter 14. The output voltage of the operational amplifier 7a is generated around OV, the output voltage is subject to level shift by the TR 21 and the Zener diode 22 and the result is inputted to the VCO 12.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the detecting capacity by collecting plural reproduced separation bits, determining one digit of a present position address data by a majority, comparing it with a separate code of a desired position address, and varying a search speed. CONSTITUTION:A data of a several block portion of a demodulating part is inputted to a shift register 41 from an input terminal 69a, and a separation bit takes a majority of several blocks in a majority circuit 42, decides its contents, and records them in a RAM44. Subsequently, by data of a one track portion is sent to shift registers 52, 51, and 50, and on the other hand, high speed search use desired address information is inputted to shift registers 49, 48, and 47 through an input terminal 46 from a desired address designating part, both are compared and what ordinal number of bit from the upper digit of a track address coincides with them is decided, and a motor revolving speed control signal is outputted to a servo-part from an output terminal 68. On the other hand, a large or small deciding output of values of a present track address and a desired track address is outputted to the servo-part from a terminal 67 and a tape running direction is determined.
