Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard carbon film having a sliding characteristics excellent in low friction, wear resistance or the like especially in a case of being used in a lubricating oil, and a method for forming the same.SOLUTION: The hard carbon film 3 is formed on a surface of a substrate 1 through an intermediate layer 2. The intermediate layer 2 consists of any one or more layers of a metal layer, a metal nitride layer, and a metal carbide layer, and the hard carbon film 3 consists of one or more layers. A surface of the intermediate layer has grainy unevenness with an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 0.5 μm, and the hard carbon film has minute unevenness with an average unevenness height of 2 to 5 nm.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively achieve excellent low friction resistance and wear resistance by providing a sliding mechanism comprising a lubricating oil composition for a low-friction sliding material having both excellent low friction resistance and wear resistance when used as lubricating oil for a low-friction sliding material, and a sliding material having excellent low friction resistance.SOLUTION: In the sliding mechanism, lubricating oil is interposed to a sliding surface for two sliding materials to slide to each other. The lubricating oil is made of a lubricating oil composition containing an organic molybdenum compound which has a nitrogen (N) atom and/or an oxygen (O) atom in a molecule and may have a sulfur (S) atom in the molecule and which has a sulfur content of less than 0.5 mass% with regard to the compound. An amorphous carbon film is formed on the sliding surface of at least one of the two sliding materials. The amorphous carbon film contains 1-50 atom% of metal elements.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article covered with a diamond-like carbon film, in which the diamond-like carbon film adheres excellently to an article body.SOLUTION: The diamond-like-carbon-film covered article W is covered at least partially with the diamond-like carbon (DLC) film formed through an intermediate layer made of an amorphous silicon carbide film. The amorphous silicon carbide film exhibits a peak in spectral intensity in the Raman shift range of 1,400 to 1,600 cmin laser Raman spectroscopic analysis using a laser having a wavelength of 532 nm.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition that contains ZnDTP as an anti-wear additive but shows a low friction coefficient when used as a lubricating oil for a low-friction sliding material. SOLUTION: The specific lubricating oil composition is prepared by compounding (A) a specific cleaning agent containing alkaline earth metal, (B) a specific boron-free succinimide ash-free dispersant, (C) zinc dialkyldithiophosphate and (D) a specific sulfur compound with a lubricating base oil.
