Abstract: Metalized plastic substrates and a manufacturing method thereof are provided herein. The method includes providing a plastic substrate made of a plastic material, in which a plurality of accelerator particles is dispersed. The accelerator particles are made of a compound selected from the group consisting of: CuFe 2 O 4-6 , Ca 0 . 25 Cu 0.75 TiO 3-² , and TiO 2-à , and ´, ², à is deemed to be 0.05‰¤´‰¤0.8, 0.05‰¤²‰¤0.5, and 0.05‰¤Ã‰¤1.0. The method includes the step of removing plastic material in a determined area of a surface of the plastic substrate. The method further includes plating the exposed surface of the plastic substrate to form a first metal layer, and then plating the first metal layer to form a second metal layer.

The first compound includes one or more salts of lithium metal phosphorous while the second compound includes one or more lithium transition metal oxides. In other instances, a conductive additive may also be incorporated. The cathode materials so produced exhibit enhanced electrical properties and thermal stability.

Abstract: A reverse connection protecting device is provided, comprising: a charging and discharging interface defining first and second lead-in ends, and first and second lead-out ends corresponding to the first and second lead-in ends respectively, in which the second lead-in end is adapted to couple to a negative terminal of a secondary battery of the backup power supply, and the second lead-out end is adapted to couple to a negative terminal of a load and a negative terminal of an external power supply; a battery control module coupled to the first lead-in end of the charging and discharging interface and adapted to couple to a positive terminal of the secondary battery for controlling the charging or discharging of the secondary battery; a switch unit adapted to be coupled between the first lead-out end and a positive terminal of the load as well as a positive terminal of the external power supply; a switch control module coupled to the switch unit for controlling the switch unit according to voltages of the first and second lead-out ends of the charging and discharging interface; and an activation module adapted to couple to the battery control module, the load and the external power supply respectively for activating the battery control module after the external power supply is powered on and disconnected when any one of the load, the secondary battery and the external power supply is reversely connected. A backup power supply comprising the reverse connection protecting device is also provided.
