Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow-based selective reverse tunneling in wireless local-area network (WLAN)-cellular systems. SOLUTION: At least one subscriber (20) is subscribed to both a cellular network and a wireless local-area network (WLAN). The subscriber is located in the WLAN (22). Flows of the subscriber are provided for transfer. Each flow contains packets. For each flow a determination is made as to whether that flow is to be routed directly through the WLAN or through both the WLAN and cellular network. Each flow's packets are routed on the basis of this flow's routing determination. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for efficiently support data calls to WTRUs (101, 102 and 103) in systems that also support a telephone set. SOLUTION: Various types of data are transmitted on a known schedule which is precisely synchronized to a predetermined time slot (56) in a time frame (54). The WTRUs (101, 102 and 103) synchronize their wake-up periods to search for data during their respective allocated time periods when data may actually be transmitted to them, resulting in reduced power consumption in their quiescent states corresponding to the ignored frames. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a waiting time during a changing procedure of an HS-DSCH cell on a service side, and potentially prevent the missing of transmission of packet data units. SOLUTION: In order to efficiently recover data buffered by a source node B, a new reference is introduced for UE that generates a status report about a PDU as soon as possible following notification about the changing of a cell which is indicated by an RRC procedure. A PDU status may be indicated about each wireless link controller related to an HS-DSCH transfer channel. Further, SRNC can wait for the PDU status report before the new transmission of data is started in a target cell depending on the change of the HS-DSCH cell on an internode B service side. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alternative method for establishing a wireless Internet session. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to establishing a wireless packet session between at least two users (USER A and USER B). At least one (USER A or USER B) of the users is a wireless user. A first user of the at least two users sends a reservation setup protocol (RSVP) PATH message (30) to a second user of the two users. The RSVP PATH message (30) includes information for reserving resources for transmissions from only the first user to the second user; or from the first user to the second user and the second user to the first user, or only for transmissions from the second user to the first user. In response to receiving the RSVP PATH message (30), the second user transmits a RSVP reservation (RESV) message (32) to the first user. Transmissions occur using the reserved resources. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for permitting the RNC to control purging of data buffered in the Node B. SOLUTION: The RNC monitors for a triggering event, which initiates the purging process. The RNC then informs the Node B of the need to purge data by transmitting a purge command (54), which prompts the Node B to delete at least a portion of buffered data. The purge command (54) can include instructions for the Node B to purge all data for a particular UE, data in one or several user priority transmission queues or in one or more logical channels in the Node B, depending upon the particular data purge triggering event realized in the RNC. Abstract:
A method and system for positioning mobile units using angle measurements taken by neighboring mobile units is disclosed. A selected mobile unit and mobile units in the vicinity of the selected mobile unit are selectively instructed to measure and report information related to the position of the selected mobile unit. The reported information is used to compute a position of the selected mobile unit.
