Abstract: 잉크분사장치는 노즐부, 구동부, 및 멤브레인을 가지고 있다. 노즐부는 잉크를 수용하는 잉크챔버, 및 잉크챔버 내의 잉크를 분사하기 위한 노즐공 가진다. 구동부는 작동유체챔버, 및 작동유체챔버 내에 설치된 히터를 가진다. 멤브레인은 잉크챔버와 작동유체챔버간을 구획한다. 멤브레인은 외부의 잉크공급원으로부터 공급되는 잉크가 잉크챔버와 작동유체챔버 내에 동시에 공급되도록 잉크챔버와 작동유체챔버를 연통시키는 연통공을 가진다. 작동유체챔버 내에는 메인히터와 보조히터가 설치된다. 보조히터는 연통공에 인접배치된다. 이 히터들에 전류가 공급되면, 메인히터에 발생되는 버블의 압력에 의해 노즐공을 통해 상기 잉크챔버 내의 잉크가 분사되고, 보조히터에 의해 발생되는 버블에 의해 연통공이 폐쇄된다. 따라서, 작동유체챔버 내의 잉크의 역류가 방지된다.

Abstract: A novel structure for a bubble-jet type ink-jet printhead is provided. A substrate is covered with a nozzle plate perforated by a predetermined number of nozzle holes a predetermined distance from said nozzle plate. The structure is surrounded by walls, within which form a common ink chamber. Each nozzle hole has, on the substrate underneath, a set of resistive elements. One of the resistive elements encircles an edge of a nozzle hole while another lyes directly underneath the perforation. During operation of the printhead, the encircling elements form a doughnut-shaped bubble forming an imaginary or virtual chamber within the doughnut from the rest of the common chamber. After formation of the doughnut-shaped bubble, the resister underneath the perforation forms a big bubble which causes ink to be ejected through the nozzle hole. The structure that allows for the above is easy to manufacture, and produces high quality print.

Abstract: A bubble-jet type ink-jet printing head is provided. The ink-jet printing head includes a nozzle plate in which a plurality of nozzles, through which ink is ejected, are formed, a substrate for supporting the nozzle plate, on which a plurality of heaters having three-dimensionally concave surfaces oppose the plurality of nozzles, respectively, electrodes which are formed on the top surface of the substrate and electrically coupled to each heater so as to apply current to the heater, a plurality of ink chambers which are formed between the bottom of the nozzle plate and the surfaces of the corresponding heaters and filled with ink, and an ink feed channel, formed between the nozzle plate and the substrate so as to connect with the ink chambers, for supplying ink to the ink chambers. Each heater includes a hemispherical member and a flange disposed along the rim of the hemispherical member. The ink feed channel connects with the entire circumference of each ink chamber. Accordingly, expansion energy of a bubble formed on the surface of the heater is concentrated toward the nozzle thereby improving a energy efficiency, and a back flow of ink is prevented by the bubble formed on the flange of the heater. Furthermore, ink can quickly refills the ink chamber after ejection of an ink droplet, thereby further increasing the ejection driving frequency.

Abstract: There is provided an inkjet print head including: a substrate; a nozzle plate which forms a space where ink is to be filled between the substrate and the nozzle plate and on which plural orifices for ejecting ink are formed; and heaters which form bubbles to push ink droplets out through the orifices, wherein the heaters are installed on elevation parts elevated from the substrate and inserted into the orifices. According to such a structure, since the orifices for ejecting ink droplets, themselves, act as partition members against adjacent heaters, the structure can be greatly simplified. It becomes possible to control the ejection of ink droplets precisely because there is little possibility that reverse flow occurs when bubbles are expanded.

The ink filled in the ink supplier is let in the first ink passage through the ink guide unit. Then, the ink is filled with the ink chamber through the second and third ink passages. The second ink passage is operated as a buffer by receiving back flowing ink generated through pressure of a bubble while heating the ink.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A cleaner for the recording head of an ink jet printer is provided to effectively clean the recording head of an ink jet printer by using a specific liquid when the emission port of the recording head is contaminated with the dried contaminants. CONSTITUTION: A cleaner for the recording head(10) of an ink jet printer comprises a cap(20) closely adhered to a recording head to form a closed space(21) around an emission port(11), a cleaning liquid supply unit for supplying a cleaning liquid into the closed space, an oscillating unit for removing the contaminants stuck on the emission port employing the cleaning liquid by vibrating in the closed space, and a suction unit for sucking the fluid including the cleaning liquid from the closed space. The cleaning liquid supply unit consists of a cleaning liquid storage container(30) and a solenoid valve(31). The suction unit consists of a bellows tube(40) connected with the closed space, a waste tank(47) connected with the bellows tube and a driving unit for sucking the fluid from the closed space by shrinking and expanding the bellows tube. The oscillating unit is a piezoelectric element(23) of which middle portion vibrates. The contaminants stuck on the emission port are removed by the vibration of the piezoelectric element. Therefore, the recording head is cleaned even when the emission port is dried.
