    Abstract: This disclosure relates to using a wake up signal in conjunction with cellular communication in unlicensed spectrum. A cellular base station may provide a wake up signal on an unlicensed frequency channel after successful completion of a listen-before-talk procedure. The wake up signal may include a preamble configured for coherent detection, and information indicating channel occupancy time for a cellular communication by the cellular base station and a cell identifier for the cellular base station. A wireless device may monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for a wake up signal, and may determine whether to monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for control channel signaling based on whether a wake up signal is received, and potentially also based on the contents of the wake up signal if a wake up signal is received.

Semi-static TDD configuration may include: an initial portion for downlink transmission; a flexible portion; and a terminal portion for uplink transmission. TDD 5 structure of the flexible portion may be determined later by transmission of dynamic physical layer configuration information such as downlink control information (DCI) and/or slot format indicator (SFI). (The SFI may be included in a group common PDCCH of a slot.) The downlink portion and/or the uplink portion may include subsets whose nominal transmit direction is subject to override by transmission of dynamic physical layer configuration information.

A base station (BS) may establish communication with a first user equipment device (UE). The BS may determine a transmission direction for each of a plurality of symbols included in one or more slots. The BS may transmit a slot format indicator (SFI) to the UE. The SFI may indicate the transmission direction for each of the plurality of symbols included in one or more slots. The BS and the UE may perform communication during the one or more slots according to the determined transmission direction.

    Abstract: A device and method generates a hopping scheme for mobile stations of a wireless network. The method includes receiving a number of channels N of the wireless network.     Abstract: In order to improve the communication performance and communication reliability of an electronic device, a communication quality metric is determined based on information communicated via a wireless network using a single antenna. For example, the communication quality metric may be determined based on acknowledgment (ACK) and negative-acknowledgment (NACK) messages in the communicated information or a number of packets retransmitted and a number of new packets transmitted in the communicated information. Then, one of at least two antennas is selected based on the determined communication quality metric. In this way, the electronic device may effectively use a single receive chain to provide improved communication of the information.

    Abstract: A user device receives packets from a base station. The user device may invoke decoding while the packet is still being received, based on the incomplete contents of a given packet. This "partial packet decoding" relies on the fact that the underlying information in the packet is encoded with redundancy (code rate less than one). If link quality is poor, the partial packet decoding is likely to be unsuccessful, i.e., to fail in its attempt to recover the underlying information. To avoid waste of power, the user device may be configured to apply one or more tests of link quality prior to invoking the partial packet decoding on a current packet.
