Abstract: Método para la producción de poliolalquiléteres mediante reacción de compuestos que contienen por lo menos tres grupos funcionales hidroxi con olefinas en presencia de catalizadores ácidos a temperaturas de 20 a 250ºC y presiones de 0,5 a 10 bar, caracterizado porque las olefinas corresponden a la fórmula general (I) donde R 1 significa hidrógeno y R 2 significa radical de carbono lineal o ramificado con 7 a 28 átomos de carbono, o R 1 y R 2 significan en cada caso un radical de carbono lineal o ramificado con 1 a 27 átomos de carbono, donde la suma del número de carbonos de R 1 y R 2 es como máximo de 28, donde el compuesto que contiene por lo menos tres grupos funcionales hidroxi es elegido de entre sorbitol, trimetilolpropano, pentaeritritol, compuestos de la fórmula (IV), (V), (VI), (IX) y mezclas de ellos donde t es 1 a 20 y los compuestos de la fórmula (IX) pueden ser lineales o ramificados.

Abstract: In a nickel-catalysed method for the oligomerization of 4-8C alkenes in a series of 2 or more reactors operating under adiabatic conditions, the feed stream is split and the part-streams are fed into at least 2 of the reactors with the addition of fresh feed so that the temperature in any reactor is not more than 20[deg]C above that in any of the other reactors. A method for the production of oligomers of 4-8C alkenes from a hydrocarbon feed stream containing such alkenes, on a nickel-containing heterogeneous catalyst in a series of 2 or more reactors operating under adiabatic conditions at 30-280[deg]C and 1-300 bar, where: (a) the feed stream is introduced into reaction zone 1 at a temperature T1, (b) the temperature increases in each zone, and (c) if this increase is more than T1 + 20[deg]C, the temperature is adjusted to within the range T1 +- 20[deg]C before the mixture is fed into the next zone. In this method, the feed stream is split and the part-streams are fed into at least two of the reactors with the addition of fresh feed so that the temperature in any one reactor is not more than 20[deg]C above that in any of the other reactors.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing polyol alkyl ethers by reacting compounds comprising at least three hydroxyl functionalities with olefins in the presence of acidic catalysts at temperatures of from 20 to 250° C. and pressures of from 0.5 to 10 bar, wherein the olefins correspond to the general formula (I) in which R1 is hydrogen and R2 is a linear or branched carbon radical having from 7 to 28 carbon atoms, or R1 and R2 are each linear or branched carbon radicals having from 1 to 27 carbon atoms, the sum of the carbon number of R1 and R2 being at most 28, to polyol alkyl ethers derived from compounds having at least three hydroxyl functionalities, not more than all but one hydroxyl functionality being replaced by a moiety of the general formula (VIII) to the use of these polyol alkyl ethers as surfactants and to laundry detergents and cleaning compositions comprising these polyol alkyl ethers.
