    Abstract: A unit for the open width wet treatment of cloth comprises driven cylinders placed to make it possible for the cloth running on them to follow an undulating path. Here, the cylinders (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) are formed into two groups (3, 4) each comprising two rows (a and b) with horizontal axes set in vertical planes, those in the second row (3a, 3b) of each group being set against loose cylinders (30) belonging to a vertical structure (31). This is controlled to move to and from the second row cylinders so, when the loose cylinders approach, to exert pressure on the cloth (T). Also claimed is a plant comprising several such wet treatment units.

    Abstract: The invention refers to a method to wash wide materials in two phases, one in which the material is placed in a liquid environment by the appropriate mechanical action tools, the other in which the wet material is placed in a gaseous environment, preferably air, by the appropriate mechanical action tools; and to a structure in which to carry out the method made of at least two environments; one in which the turning tools, having at least two different sizes separated angularly and able to operate mechanically on the material, work in the liquid environment, the other in which the said tools work in the gaseous environment. Advantageously, the number of tools that work in the gaseous environment can be changed by placing part of them in the liquid environment.
