In a front suspension comprising torsion bars 7 connected to respective lower transverse suspension links 4, a laminar anti-roll spring 9 is secured at its ends to the torsion bars 7 and lies in the common plane containing the torsion bars 7. Resilient bushings 10 connect the ends of the anti-roll spring 9 to the body structure 3. As shown the anti-roll spring 9 comprises a single laminar element which is connected to the torsion bars 7 by splines. In another embodiment the anti-roll spring is formed by two laminar elements and is held at the ends between the jaws of jaw assemblies connected to the respective torsion bars.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder having a horizontal axis, one end of the cylinder being formed as a combustion chamber and the other end opening into a crankcase receiving a lubricating atmosphere. A piston slidable in the cylinder has a space therein communicating with the crankcase. The piston is formed with grooves of rectangular cross-section with a base and a pair of transverse surfaces. A scraper groove furthest from the combustion chamber receives a scraper ring and has orifices in its base communicating with the piston space, the other sealing grooves receiving piston rings, annular gaps between the piston and cylinder being left on each side of the piston and scraper rings. The annular gaps are placed in continuous communication with the groove bases by at least one recess on each transverse surface of a sealing groove and by at least one recess on that transverse surface of the scraper groove which is nearest the combustion chamber.

Abstract: An improved inertia switch having a variable threshold and operating time comprises a flywheel, a driving member, electrical contact elements carried respectively by the driving member and the flywheel and return means coupled between the driving member and the flywheel. The contact element carried by the flywheel comprises on the one hand a contact terminal integral with a support coupled by friction to the flywheel, the contact terminal co-operating with a part of the contact carried by the driving member, and on the other hand, a contact surface integral with the flywheel co-operating with a second contact part carried by the driving member. The switch is particularly applicable for detecting imminent locking of a vehicle wheel.

Abstract: There is disclosed an anti-locking braking system for a wheel of a motor vehicle wherein there is provided an exhaust path for the fluid under pressure from a brake cylinder when a device senses the imminent locking of a wheel, such exhaust path includes an accumulator having a volume which increases against a compressional spring force at higher fluid pressure levels. For low pressures a valve, operated by the change in volume of the accumulator, remains open allowing the low pressure fluid to exhaust rapidly via an easy route. If the pressure is high, the valve is closed so that the high pressure fluid is compelled to exhaust via a further accumulator and a flow limiter.

Abstract: The suspension has antiroll bars (4) passing through openings (3) in body panels of the vehicle. Outside of each associated body panel each bar (4) is connected to an adaptation piece (5) which is in the form of a pedestal bearing, nuts (6) being used to clamp the two parts. The adaptation piece supports a wheel using a torsion bar (7) which has a grooved end fitting into the adaptation piece. The openings (3) contain elastic bushes (9) which allow free play of the anti-roll bars.
