Abstract: The subject of the invention is a method for determination by optimization of an ophthalmic lens for a wearer for whom a power addition has been prescribed. The method proposes using as a target for the optimization of the lens, under wearing conditions, a difference of the mean orientation of the axes of resulting astigmatism to the vertical of less than 2.5° in a first control zone delimited by an ellipse centred on the progression meridian at half height between the fitting cross and the near vision reference point, said ellipse having a major axis greater than 35° and a minor axis comprised between 3.8° and 4.5°. The invention allows improvement in the performances of the progressive multifocal lenses in intermediate vision.

Abstract: Procedimiento de determinación de una lente oftálmica multifocal progresiva que incluye las etapas de: - elección de una lente inicial con una cruz de centrado (CC) que materializa la dirección primaria de la mirada en las condiciones de uso y una meridiana de progresión sustancialmente umbilicada con una adición de potencia (A) superior o igual a 2 dioptrías entre un punto de referencia en visión lejana (VL) y un punto de referencia en visión cercana (VC); - definición de una lente corriente igual a la lente inicial; - optimización, en las condiciones de uso, de la lente corriente utilizando como objetivos: - una longitud de progresión inferior o igual a 25°, la longitud de progresión se define como el ángulo de descenso de la mirada desde la cruz de centrado (CC) hasta el punto de la meridiana en el que la potencia óptica del usuario alcanza el 85% de la prescripción de adición (A); y - una diferencia entre la orientación media de los ejes de astigmatismo resultante y la vertical inferior a 2,5° en una primera zona de control delimitada por una elipse centrada en la meridiana de progresión a mitad de altura entre la cruz de centrado (CC) y el punto de referencia en visión cercana (VC), dicha elipse presenta un eje mayor, superior a 35°, y un eje menor, comprendido entre 3,8° y 4,5°.

Abstract: The invention relates to a progressive ophthalmic lens and to a method of producing one such lens. Variations in the optical power and the astigmatism of a progressive ophthalmic lens (10) result from (i) spherical and cylindrical variations in the anterior face (2) of the lens and (ii) variations in another physical unit of the lens. In this way, it is possible to customise the design of the progressive lens as a function of at least one behavioural characteristic of the lens wearer. Said customisation can be repeated by modulating the values of the physical unit between the different points of the lens. As a result, progressive lenses with different designs can be obtained from identical semi-finished lenses. The physical unit can comprise the sphere and the cylinder of the posterior face of the lens (3).

Abstract: The progressive multifocal ophthalmic lens with a complex surface including a prism reference point, a cross mounting unit located at 8[deg] above the reference point, and an umbilicated progression meridian with a power addition value of >=1.5 diopter. The power addition value lies between the reference point of far and near vision. Radius of curvature of the lens is adjusted for the far vision using a reduced root mean square deviation with the power addition lower than 0.65 mu m by diopter. The progressive multifocal ophthalmic lens with a complex surface including a prism reference point, a cross mounting unit located at 8[deg] above the reference point, and an umbilicated progression meridian with a power addition value of >=1.5 diopter. The power addition value lies between the reference point of far and near vision. Radius of curvature of the lens is adjusted for the far vision using a reduced root mean square deviation with the power addition lower than 0.65 mu m by diopter, a zone bounded by a centered circle on the prism reference point and by a diameter of the circle corresponding to sweep angle of 80[deg], a progression length is =25[deg], and a difference in reduced root mean square deviation is lower than 0.12 mu m by diopter. The reduced root mean square deviation is determined by calculating the nullified coefficient of orders of 1 and 2 correspond to defocalization in Zernike polynomial decomposition of a wave front face passes through the lens. The progression length is defined as lower common angle of the cross mounting unit up to the point of the meridian for which an optical power carrier reaches 85% of the power addition value. The difference in the reduced root mean square deviation is calculated by an absolute value. The zone comprises a control point of far vision in which the zone is bounded by the half centered circle on the cross mounting unit and by radius of the circle corresponds to an elevation of 25[deg]. The difference in the reduced root mean square deviation between two symmetrical points in half circle is =0.12 mu m by diopter below a horizontal line located at 8[deg] above the cross mounting unit. The half circle has a horizontal base that passes through the cross mounting unit. The symmetrical axis of the half circle is scattered with the progression meridian. Independent claims are included for: (1) a visual equipment; (2) a long-sighted vision correction process; and (3) a lens assembling process.

Abstract: Une évaluation quantitative d'un filtre coloré (10) conformément à la capacité dudit filtre à restituer des teintes comprend l'utilisation d'un modèle numérique d'apparence colorée. Des valeurs d'un attribut perceptif sont calculées pour des échantillons de teintes (20), en simulant l'observation de chacun des échantillons à travers le filtre (10) et sans filtre. Les valeurs de l'attribut perceptif correspondent à la perception visuelle des échantillons par un observateur (40), et un écart entre les valeurs avec et sans filtre constitue le résultat de l'évaluation du filtre. Un tel procédé permet de classer quantitativement plusieurs filtres colorés, et le classement obtenu correspond à celui qui serait établi par des observateurs réels évaluant les filtres.

The complex surface has a mean-sphere difference normalized to the addition on the meridian, between the geometric centre of the lens and the control point in far vision, less than or equal to 0.1; a progression length less than or equal to 14 mm; a rebound of the sphere quantity normalized to the addition on a circle with a radius of 20 mm centred on the geometric centre of the lens less than 0.11, and a maximum slope of the sphere variation normalized to the addition along the meridian comprised between 0.9 and 0.11 mm -1 . The lens is suited to broadened far vision with a good accessibility to near vision.
