The beam then strikes on an array of micro-lenses (2) of square or rectangular shape of arbitrary cross-section which have the function to converge and divide the beam into a plurality of partial beams which may have different directions, towards a matrix of coloured micro-filters (3) or images.

    Abstract: The polychromatic or monochromatic radiation beam emitted by a light source strikes an array of micro-filters (2a) which partially or totally transmit the light beam towards an array of micro-mirrors (3a). The partially reflected beam comes back towards the first array of micro-filters (2a) and passes again through it until it reaches a viewer or a recording system or a screen. A relative movement between the two arrays of micro-filters (2a) and micro-mirrors (3a) enables static or animated images or colour strips selectable according to the needs to be generated.

    Abstract: A radiation beam emitted by a polychromatic source with finite dimension is initially corrected in its vergence and distribution by a reflector (18) or a system which operates according to refraction, diffraction, total inner reflection, effects and is incident on a matrix of micro-lenses (8) with a square, rectangular or any other cross-section, which have the function of converging the beam towards a matrix of coloured micro-filters (9) or image micro-cells. The micro-filters (9) or the cells corresponding to different images are two or more for each single micro-lens (8) which is present in the matrix of micro-lenses (8) The dimension of the coloured micro-filters (9) is such that they intercept partially or totally the converging polychromatic beam. The selection of the colour or the images is obtained by interposing the desired colour in the polychromatic light beam. A movement of the plate of micro-filters (9) enables the colour or the image to be changed. The cross-section of the micro-filters (9) and the type of micro-lenses (8) which are used enable coloured patterns with the desired light distribution to be generated.
