    Abstract: A gas sensor includes a transmitter that may transmit a first radar signal, associated with a resonance peak corresponding to a first gas, through a space including the first gas and a second gas. The first gas may absorb a portion of the first radar signal to create a second radar signal. The transmitter may transmit a first infrared (IR) signal, associated with a second resonance peak corresponding to the second gas, through the space. The first gas or the second gas may absorb a portion of the first IR signal to create a second IR signal. The gas sensor may include a controller to determine a concentration of the second gas based on the second radar signal and the second IR signal.

    Abstract: A signal generator comprises a signal provider and a signal processing unit. The signal provider is configured to provide a sensor signal indicating a repeatedly detected event, occurring within differing time intervals. The signal processing unit is configured to generate a transmit signal based on the sensor signal. The transmit signal comprises event information representing the temporal occurrence of the event and additional information representing additional data. The event information comprises pulses associated to detected events, wherein the pulses are temporarily separated within the transmit signal according to the differing time intervals of detected events so that each time interval of the differing time intervals comprises one pulse associated to a detected event. Further, the additional data comprises at least one frame comprising a predefined number of additional data bits. The information of the additional data bits of the at least one frame is distributed over at least two time intervals of the differing time intervals.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication system configured to independently introduce channel protection data into a plurality of different channels prior to transmission. In some embodiments, the system has a plurality of sensors configured to independently generate digital sensor signals, each sensor signal corresponding to a sensed quantity. A plurality of channel protection elements are respectively configured to receive one of the digital sensor signals output from an individual one of the sensors and to introduce channel protection data (CPD) into the received digital sensor signal to generate an individual channel protected sensor signal (CPS). A shared communication interface is configured to receive the individual CPS signals from the plurality of channel protection elements and to assemble selected ones of the individual CPS signals into a data frame.

    Abstract: A receiver includes a receiver circuit to receive a first transition in a first direction, a second transition in a second, different direction after the first transition and a third transition in the first transition after the second transition of a signal. A first time period between the first and third transitions is indicative of a datum to be received. The receiver circuit is also configured to determine a second time period between the first transition and a second transition and to determine an additional datum to be received based at least on the determined second time period between the first and second transitions. Using the determined second time period allows for more information to be received in a reliable manner.
