Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce heat conduction by inserting a material blending core having-hard urethane foam powder and water absorbent having specific surface area larger than the urethane powder in an outer cover material to decompress the inside thereof to seal up. SOLUTION: Uethane powder 2 pulverizing hard urethane foam is blended with a water absorbent 3 having 5-20 times of specific surface area in comparison with the urethane powder. After a material blending the urethane powder 2 and water absorbent 3 is heated and dewatered at temperature of 120 deg.C-250 deg.C, the plate-like material resulting from pressure molding under conditions of 5-100 kg/cm is inserted in an outer cover material 4 formed in the shape of a bag by heat welding. Then, the outer cover material 4 is put in a chamber 12 of a vacuum packing machine 10, the end face 13 of an opening in the outer cover material 4 is mounted to a heat sealing machine 11, and the inside of the chamber 12 is decompressed to seal up the outer cover material 4. Accordingly, the scatter of the powder is prevented, and work efficiency can be promoted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expanded heat insulation material showing excellent heat insulation properties and deteriorating less in thermal conductivity even after long-term air permeation by making an expanded urethane resin composition having closed cells filled with a hydrofluorocarbon and an organic volatile substance having a specified vapor pressure include urethane bonds and urea bonds, a carbonate synthesis catalyst and a carbonate compound. SOLUTION: The three components of a mixture comprising a polyol composition, a foam stabilizer, a urethane polymerization catalyst, a reactive blowing agent and a volatile blowing agent, a mixture comprising an epoxide compound and a carbonate synthesis catalyst and an isocyanate component are mixed with each other under agitation in a high-pressure expanding machine. The intracellular CO2 is fixed in the form of a cyclic carbonate and results in improved thermal conductivity. The volatile blowing agent is a combination of an HFC with an organic volatile substance (especially desirably, cyclopentane) having a vapor pressure of 5-20 kgf/cm at ordinary temperature and it is therefore contributes to lowered load on the environment. A refrigerator containing a closed refrigerator box packed with the expanded product deteriorates less in heat insulation performances even after air permeation.

The closed cells contain a volatile blowing agent and a fluorine-based hydrocarbon having a partial pressure lower than that of the volatile blowing agent.

SOLUTION: This carbon dioxide fixing agent is composed of at least an onium compound (e.g. tetra-n-butylammonium bromide) and a urethane polymerization catalyst (e.g. dibutyltin dilaurate) (preferably, composed of an onium compound and an organic tin compound) as an addition reaction catalyst of at least one component of epoxide compound with carbon dioxide and a cyclic carbonate composition is produced by a reaction of addition reaction [e.g. a reaction of the formula (R -R are each H or a substituting group)] of carbon dioxide.

CONSTITUTION: This material is prepared by mixing a polyol component containing at least 20% benzylic ether type liquid phenolic resin composition having a hydroxyl value of 350-600mgKOH/g with an organic polyisocyanate, a foam stabilizer, a metallic catalyst, a carbon dioxide absorbent and a blowing agent at least partially consisting of a hydrocarbon such as pentane or cyclopentane as a blowing agent component and expanding the resulting mixture.

CONSTITUTION:A thermal insulation foam is obtd. by mixing and stirring an org. polyisocyanate (e.g. a crude MDI with an amine equivalent of 135), a polyol component contg. at least 5-30% polyether polyol having a hydroxyl value of 500-1,000mgKOH/g and formed by the addition polymn. of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide using a diol or a triol as the initiator (the rest of the polyol component being e. g. an arom.-amine-initiated polyether polyol having a hydroxyl value of 460mgKOH/g), a foam stabilizer (e.g. a silicone surfactant), a catalyst (e.g. Kaolizer No1), and a blowing agent at least contg. 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3- hexafluoropropane and then foaming and filling the mixture with a high-pressure foaming machine.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a dangerous state of getting fire and provide a safe thermal insulating box by a method wherein this box is comprised of an outer box, a special hard urethane foam, an inner box formed with resin provided with a metallic thin film in contact with the hard urethane foam. CONSTITUTION:Since an inner box 2 is so constructed that a surface in contact with hard urethane foam 4 having hydrocarbon such as pentan, cyclopentan or the like as a foam agent, the hard urethane foam 4 has a problem in particular in case of combustion of a themal insulating box 1 is covered with an outer box 3 made of metallic plate acting an noncombustible material and the metallic thin film 5 of non-ignitabel material. Accordingly, in case of of fire, when the inner box 2 is ignited, it is covered by the non-ignitable material or hard-to- ignite material, so that fire is not rapidly expanded at the hard urethane foam 4. With such an arrangement as above, a dangerous getting of fire during fire is reduced and a safe thermal insulating box 1 can be attained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the danger of explosion and/or fire and permit the production of the title box body safely by a method wherein the heat insulation box, utilized for a refrigerator and the like, is constituted of an outer casing, hard urethane foam utilizing hydrocarbon as a foaming agent, and an inner casing, made by forming an antistatic ABS resin composition. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulation box 1 is constituted of an inner casing 2, formed of an antistatic ABS resin composition, an outer casing 3, formed of steel sheets and covering the inner casing 2, and foamed heat insulating material 4, consisting of hard urethane foam and filled into a space between the inner casing 2 and the outer casing 3. Hydrocarbon or pentane or cyclopentane is used for the foaming agent of the foamed heat insulating material 4. According to this method, a problem that the inner casing 2 is charged with static electricity during foaming the hard urethane foam is eliminated while the fear of ignition and/or explosion of the hard urethane foam can be eliminated even when flamable hydrocarbon is employed as the foaming agent. Further, a foaming agent, taking place of chlorofluorocarbon having the problem of destructing the ozone layer of the globe, is permitted to be used safely.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a phenol-urethane foam which is used as a thermal insulation material for a refrigerator, a freezer, etc., is free from pollution due to chlorofluorocarbons, and is excellent in thermal insulation properties and productivity. CONSTITUTION:A thermal insulation foam is produced by mixing a liq. benzylic- ether-based phenol resin compsn. contg. 5-15% arom.-amine-based polyether and 20-40% nonamine-based polyether, a catalyst, a foam stabilizer, an org. isocyanate, and 1,1-dichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane and foaming the mixture. Thus, the foam excellent in strength and thermal insulation properties is produced at a high productivity without causing pollution due to chlorofluorocarbons.
