Abstract: : A heat exchanger for use in an air conditioner, refrigerator or the like, comprises a plurality of flat platelike fins arranged parallel to one another at predetermined intervals so as to allow air stream to flow therebetween A plurality of heat transfer tubes pass through the fins for transporting a fluid therethrough. Each fin is provided with a number of groups of air vents arranged to cross the air stream. Each of the air vents is defined by a slat having four sides, in which two sides facing the air stream are open and the other two sides are provided with leg portions for connecting the slat to the fin. The leg portions are aligned with each other and are inclined with respect to the normal line of the leading edge of the fin. With this structure, a swirling and a turbulent component of the air stream flowing between the fins are induced to improve the heat transfer efficiency of the fins.

Abstract: Disclosed is a heat exchanger having a plurality of flat fins disposed in parallel at predetermined intervals and adapted such that the air flows therebetween and a plurality of heat-transfer tubes disposed to intersect at right angles with the plurality of fins and adapted such that a fluid flows therethrough. The heat-transfer tubes are arranged such that a line connecting the adjacent heat-transfer tubes in the longitudinal direction of the fin is perpendicular to the direction of the air flow. The projection area in the direction of the air flow of any of the heat-transfer tubes located on the upstream side with respect to the air flow partially overlaps the position of at least one of the heat-transfer tubes disposed on the downstream side thereof. The pitch of adjacent heat-transfer tubes is smaller in the direction perpendicular to the air flow than in the direction of the air flow. Such an arrangement excells in both the frosting characteristics and performance.

Abstract: Disclosed are plate-shaped fins (2) for a heat exchanger (1) having a coated film (4) formed thereon so that waterdrops can easily fall down from the surface of the plate-shaped fins, the coated film being composed of a solution containing a silicone coating film type resin compound and inorganic finely divided particles. Further, the inorganic finely divided particles are used to provide fine irregular portions on the surface of the coated film formed on the plate-shaped fins so that the area where the waterdrops come into contact with the surface of the fins is reduced.

Abstract: Disclosed is a heat exchanger arranged such that a plurality of groups of cutouts are formed on the surfaces of flat fins as between vertically adjacent heat transfer tubes by providing a plurality of cutouts, including two openings extending transverse to the direction of the air flow and two legs nonparallel with said direction of the air flow, on the front and reverse sides of the flat fins. This arrangement remarkably reduces the heat resistance between the air and the fin surfaces. Since the plurality of cutouts or the plurality of groups of cutouts are formed in the identical configuration, maintenance of a mold can be facilitated.

Abstract: The insulated structure is formed into the space between the plastic board (2) and metal plate (3) with a disposition of copper pipes (5) by injection of the foamed thermal-insulating material being created by foaming (4), wherein a non-halogenated organophosphorus compound having a molecular weight over 150 as an additive with an OH group as a functional group is mixed with the raw materials of the foamed thermal-insulating material being comprised of polyol, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst, a foaming agent having at least one component of hydrocarbon, and an organic polyisocyanates. By adding a non-halogenated organophosphorus compound which has a molecular weight over 150 as an additive with an OH group as a functional group, the burning rate becomes the same as that of the present CFC11 foaming agent; in addition, the possibilities of phosphor corrosion by free ionization to the copper pipes (5) which are disposed inside of the insulated structure are eliminated and phosphorus transfer to the plastic board (2) and worries of food contamination are also eliminated.
