Abstract:
Disclosed is an electronic apparatus having its operation controlled electronically responsive to the wax and the wane of the moon. The electronic apparatus includes a moon age calendar (4) for storage of the age of the moon, a timer (3) for timing the current date and time, and an image database (5) for storage of moon images. A display controller (6) retrieves the age of the moon, consistent with the current date and time, from the moon age calendar (4), and reads out a moon image of the moon phase consistent with the age of the moon from the image database (5). An operating panel (9) includes a display area for demonstrating the operating state of the electronic apparatus and another display area for demonstrating the wax and the wane of the moon. The display controller (6) causes the moon image to be read out from an image database (5) and demonstrated in the display area for demonstrating the wax and the wane of the moon.
Abstract:
Location information obtained from a positioning system 4 and environmental information such as time, temperature, air pressure and the like measured by an environmental information sensor 6 are associated with the reproduction history of music and are recorded in a history storage RAM 14, and music reproduced in the past at the same location as the present location is automatically selected and the music suitable for the location is automatically selected and reproduced based on the location information.
Abstract:
An audio controller (8) controls audio reproduction characteristic and a vid eo controller (11) controls video reproduction characteristic. A sight line detector (14) detects whether the user sight line is directed to a display (13) of a television receiver. According to a detection signal from the sigh t line detector (14), a judgment section (15) judges whether the current state is a normal viewing state, ~two-things at a time~ state, or the ~concentration~ state and generates a control signal for controlling the reproduction characteristic according to each of the states. When the ~two- things at a time~ state is judged to have been changed to the ~concentration ~ state, the sound volume is reduced so that automatically switched to the sta te not causing interference.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording medium which comprises, on a nonmagnetic support, a magnetic layer formed on one side of the support and a back coat layer formed on the other side of the support is described. The back coat layer has a center line average roughness, Ra, of not larger than 20 nm and protuberances on the surface of the back coat layer, which have a height from the center line of not less than 60 nm, at a rate of from 3 x 10 to 9 x 10 per square meter, by which good electromagnetic conversion characteristics and good runnability and endurance are obtained.
Abstract:
In order to eliminate undesirable slippage of a disc (1) on a turntable (10) of a disc drive which might occur upon effecting driving connection between the turntable (10) and the disc (1), the rotational speed of the turntable (10) is held at a level considerably lower than the normal speed for a predetermined short period of time upon starting to rotate the turntable (10).
Abstract:
OF TOE diskLOSURE In order to eliminate undesirable slippage of the disk (1) on the turntable (10) of the disk drive which might occur upon effecting driving connection between the turntable and the disk, the rotation speed of the turntable is reduced to a level considerably lower than the regular speed for a predetermined short period of time upon starting to rotate the turntable.
Abstract:
A method of preparing gamma ferric hydroxyoxide in which ferrous ions are reacted in an alkaline solution to produce a suspension of ferric hydroxide, the resulting suspension is treated with an oxidizing gas in a first oxidizing step at a relatively high oxidation rate, sufficient to cause nucleation of gamma ferric hydroxyoxide to occur, and then the oxidation rate is reduced in a second oxidizing step to cause crystal growth to occur on the nuclei formed in the first oxidizing step. The resulting product has magnetic and physical characteristics making it extremely suitable for use in the manufacture of magnetic recording media.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize an acceleration sensor for an operation of a content reproducing device. SOLUTION: A tilt angle of an axis set to a body of the content reproducing device is detected to allow scroll of an album list for retrieval of content and cursor movement on the content list and scroll according to the detection result. Accordingly, the operation for content retrieval is allowed according to a prescribed tilt posture imparted to the body of the content reproducing device without performing a physical key operation and so forth. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reappear listening experience of music contents relating to walking and running of an other user. SOLUTION: A user of a music player 3 listens music contents walking and running. For example, a tempo log in which walking tempo of an other user is recorded with time information and a music selection log in which a play list selected by the time information recorded in the tempo log and reproduced music contents are recorded are recorded in a log data base 38. A tempo being almost same as walking tempo detected by a walking tempo detecting part 40 is read out from the tempo log, the time information corresponding to the read out tempo log is obtained. Music contents corresponding to the obtained time information is discriminated from the music selection log, the discriminated music contents is reproduced from a headphone 47.
