    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide optical glass capable of precision press forming at a low temp. and having very satisfactory chemical durability and such optical constants as a specified refractive index and a specified Abbe's number. CONSTITUTION:This optical glass for precision press forming has a compsn. consisting of, by weight, 23-30%, in total, of 2-13% SiO2 and 11-25% B2O3, 5-30% LaF3, 4-13% Gd2O3, 4-13% Y2O3, 22-45% BaF2, 0.5-8%, in total, of 0-6% Li2O and 0-8% LiF and has =57 Abbe's number (nud), satisfactory chemical durability and a low softening point.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To industrially and stably produce the title glass having a specified refractive index, a specified Abbe's number, specified anomalous dispersibility and satisfactory optical durability by using metaphosphates, fluorides and oxides of rare earth elements satisfying a specified compsn. CONSTITUTION:This optical glass consists of, by weight, 20-32%, in total, of 15-32% Al(PO3)3, 0-10% Ba(PO3)2, 0-10% Sr(PO3)2, 0-10% Ca(PO3)2 and 0-10% Mg(PO3)3 (metaphosphates), 55-75%, in total, of 20-70% BaF2, 5-40% SrF2, 0-15% CaF2, 0-10% MgF2, 0-5% AlF3 and 0-5% GdF3 (fluorides) and 5-22%, in total, of 5-22% Gd2O3, 0-7% La2O3, 0-10% Y2O3 and 0-10% Yb2O3 (oxides of rare earth elements) and has such optical characteristic values as 1.54-1.60 refractive index (nd) and 68-75 Abbe's number (nud) and anomalous dispersibility represented by >=0.537 partial dispersion ratio.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a crystallized glass composed of a specific glass composition, having high meltability of the glass and excellent chemical machinability, i.e. large crystallization temperature difference between a part irradiated with ultraviolet ray and a non-irradiated part and giving a crystallized final product having a specific thermal expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:The objective glass is composed of 55-70wt.% SiO2, 8-12% Li2O, 12-20% Al2O3, 0-3% Na2O, 2-5% K2O, 0-2% Cs2O, 1-3% BaO and 0-4% ZnO and containing 0.001-0.03% CeO2 and 0.05-0.1% Ag or 0.0005-0.02% Au as photosensitive components. The glass is sensitive to ultraviolet ray to effect the selective crystallization of the ultraviolet irradiated part by the heat-treatment at 500-600 deg.C. The crystallized product produced by the heat-treatment at 800-900 deg.C to precipitate fine crystals in the glass has a thermal expansion coefficient of 40-70X10 / deg.C.

CONSTITUTION:An optical glass for lenses consisting of 20-40wt% SiO2, 10-20wt% B2O3, 3-9wt% Li2O, 0-10wt% Na2O, 0-7wt% K2O, provided that the total of Li2O, Na2O and K2O is 9-18wt%, 0-11wt% SrO, 13-45wt% BaO, 0-5wt% ZnO, 5-18wt% La2O3, 0-5wt% Gd2O3 and 0-5wt% Yb2O3 and having =50 Abbe's number (nud) and relatively low softening point and further characteristic of medium refractive index and low dispersion. The optical glass is stable to devitrification and can be precisely pressed at a relatively low temperature without requiring grinding or polishing after press forming.
