    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject staple capable of providing a spun textile having not only high lightfastness but also bulking feeling, soft feeling and rebound feeling by heat treating a drawn fiber comprising a specific copolyester under a specified condition. SOLUTION: The objective staple fiber is obtained by heat-treating a drawn fiber comprising a copolyester containing isophthalic acid and 2,2-bis 4-(2- hydroxyethoxy)phenyl}propane as copolymerizing components, simultaneously satisfying the formula I to III [P(a) is a molar fraction (%) of the isophthalic acid in the whole acid components; P(b) is the molar fraction (%) of the 2,2- bis 4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl}propane in the whole glycol components] and having >=0.52 intrinsic viscosity by controlling the condition so that the initial water content in a heat-treating zone may be >=5wt.%, a relaxation ratio may be (-2) to 5%, and a treating temperature may be 110-180 deg.C, to form the objective staple having 3% larger than that in 160 deg.C dry air after treating by the boiling water and

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bedding covers to give comfortable use feeling, by composing the bedding covers by cloth containing polyester based fiber with moisture absorptivity and antistatic properties and making the of the cloth be a specific value. SOLUTION: These bedding covers are composed of cloth mainly consisting of polyester based fiber, are excellent in moisture absorptivity and antistatic properties and give comfortable use feeling by making its moisture absorption and desorption parameter ▵MR be higher than 1%. If the moisture absorption and desorption parameter ▵MR is lower than 1%, moisture absorption and desorption are insufficient in using the bedding covers to result in that comfortable use feeling cannot be obtained. Friction electrification voltage of cloth composing the bedding covers is to be lower than or equal to 3kV. By making the friction electrification voltage to be 3kV, discomfort feeling by dust adhesion by static electricity and electric discharge can be avoided. Fiber containing a mixture of polyetherester acid and fiber composing resin is used as the polyester based fiber with those properties.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a hollow inner and outer-layered conjugated fiber giving a multi-angular hollow fiber having highly straight sides and sharp tip edges by eluting the outer layer of the conjugate fiber. CONSTITUTION:A method for producing a hollow inner and outer-layered conjugate fiber comprising an inner layer of a slightly soluble polymer having a high melting viscosity and an outer layer of an easily soluble polymer having a low melting viscosity by the use of a nozzle divided into three-six slits. The method permits to stably produce the hollow inner and outer-layered conjugate fiber in good reproducibility, the conjugate fiber giving a multi-angular hollow fiber having highly straight sides and tip edges having extremely small curvature angles after the outer layer is eluted. The conjugate fibers thereby give a web favorable in dry touch, stiffness, tension and lightweight feeling.
