    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the grade of a display image by using the flame resistant calcined matter of spherical resin particles having a uniform particle size as a spacer. CONSTITUTION:This spacer is the spherical particles which are made of the flame resistant calcined matter formed by heat treating the resin selected from a celluloses, lignin, furfuryl alcohol, formaldehyde resin, xylene formaldehyde resin, polvinylidene chloride, polyimides, polydividyl benzene, polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene, and polyvinyl alcohol in a 200-700 deg.C range and have 1-30mum average particle size. This spacer has the black color intrinsic to carbon and obviates whitening of the image and lowering of a contrast ratio and, therefore, the image grade is greatly improved. In addition, colors are not eluted in the liquid crystal or the like and the excellent stability is obtd., as dyes and pigments, etc., are not used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title fine powder in a short time in high efficiency at a low cost, by emulsifying a solution of a thermoplastic polymer in the form of an O/W-type emulsion, evaporating the organic solvent under agitation and separating the powder from the emulsion. CONSTITUTION:(A) A thermoplastic polymer is dissolved in (B) an organic solvent to obtain a polymer solution. (C) Water containing an emulsifier is added to the solution under agitation to form an O/W-type emulsion via a W/O-type emulsion.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a powdery adhesive which can be suitably used as an adhesive for spots between substrates of a liquid crystal element, comprising fine spherical particles composed of a thermosetting resin component and a rubber component. CONSTITUTION:This powder adhesive is essentially composed of 30-95wt.% thermosetting resin component and 5-70wt.% rubber component, being substantially spherical and having a mean particle diameter in the range of 0.1-500mum. As said thermosetting resin, an epoxy resin having a high adhesive force is desirable. Especially when this powdery adhesive contains an epoxy resin and is applied to a liquid crystal element, it is desirable that this adhesive is composed of 40-90wt.% epoxy resin component and 10-60wt.% rubber component. It is further desirable that the epoxy resin component and the rubber component take a sea-island structure in which the both form separate phases.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled display panel having an excellent picture quality and a high performance, without injuring a coated layer of the glass plate for the liquid crystal display panel, thereby reducing the quality of the titled spacer by forming the titled spacer composed of a fine particle of spherical silica produced by hydrolysing alkylsilicate. CONSTITUTION:The spacer is composed of the fine particles of the spherical silica which are prepared by hydrolysing the alkylsilicate. The alkylsilicate is composed of an alkylester of orthosilicic acid (H4SiO4) shown by the genera formula Si(OR)4 (R: alkyl group). The alkylsilicate having 1-5C alkyl group (R) is usually used, but, is preferably used 2-3C alkylsilicate, namely, ethylsilicate and propylsilicate, etc., from standpoints of reactivity and ease of obtaining the alkylsilicate. The hydrolysis of the alkylsilicate is effected by for example, contacting the alkylsilicate with ammonia and water in an alcoholic solvent.

CONSTITUTION:This powder adhesive agent is the mixture composed of the spacer particles and adhesive particles having the relation ¦A-B¦>=30muc/g when the triboelectrostatic charge voltage of the spacer particles to iron powder is designated as Amuc/g and the triboelectrostatic charge voltage of the adhesive particles as Bmuc/g. The spacer particles to be used are exemplified by spherical org. polymer particles, spherical particles of an inorg. oxide, carbide or nitride, or the ground matter of fibers. The adhesive particles to be used are exemplified by spherical particles or shapeless particles of epoxy, polyolefin, ionomer, polyes ter and acrylic. The uniform distribution ratio of the spacer particles and adhe sive particles is obtd. in any part of the sprayed surface by using the adhesive agent in common use as the spacer for the liquid crystal electrooptic element in the above-mentioned manner.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture the title adhesive which has a low tendency to be statically charged and suffers little blocking among particles, by suspending or emulsifying an epoxy compound having a latent curing agent incorporated therein in a liquid composed mainly of water to prepare in spherical particle form. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy compound having two or more epoxy groups in a molecule (e.g., bisphenol A diglycidyl ether) is mixed with a latent curing agent (e.g., phenol novolak) in an equivalent ratio to the epoxy group of 0.05-1:1. If necessary, 2-30wt% surface active agent having an HLB of 10 or higher (e.g., a polyethylene glycol ester of a higher aliphatic acid) is added to this mixture, which is suspended or emulsified in a liquid composed mainly of water (e.g., an aqueous alcohol). Thereafter, the solvent is removed from this suspension or emulsion to give an aqueous slurry of an epoxy-base adhesive in spherical particle form having an average particle diameter of 0.3-500mum. This slurry is mixed with an aqueous slurry of inorganic oxide particles having an average particle diameter of 0.2mum or smaller, thereby covering the aformentioned adhesive with the inorganic oxide particles.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:Spherical particles that are composed of an amine-cured epoxy resin containing oil-soluble flavor sand is suitably used as a cosmetic, paint or odorizer for paper or the like, because it keeps good smell for days and gives feeling innocent of oil or grease. CONSTITUTION:The objective particles are composed of an amine-cured opoxy resin with mean particle size of 0.1-1,000mum and contains oil-soluble flavors or perfumes. The oil-soluble perfume is, e.g., a cyclic terpene hydrocarbon free from aldehyde group. The particles are prepared by curing the fine particles of epoxy resin containing oil-soluble perfume suspended in aqueous liquid with an aqueous amine curing agent. Or a surface active agent of 10 or higher HLB may be used in an amount of 4wt% or more based on the sum of the perfume and the epoxy compound to emulsify the mixture, followed by curing.
