    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a printing press with an impression cylinder free from troubles associated with contamination with an ink, by providing a coated layer of an ink-repellent silicone as the outermost layer of the impression cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An ink-repellent silicone layer is provided as the outermost layer of an impression cylinder, in a waterless planographic press comprising a plate cylinder and an impression cylinder fitted with a sheet having rubber elasticity. The silicone layer is provided on the outer surface of a base sheet no having rubber elasticity, with an elastic layer of not larger than 18mum in thickness provided between the silicone layer and the base sheet. The sheet having rubber elasticity has a thickness of not less than 500mum, and the total thickness of layers provided on the outer surface of the sheet is not more than 500mum. With this sheet construction of the two-cylinder type printing press, contamination of the impression cylinder with the ink upon direct contact of the impression cylinder with an ink-coated machine plate fitted to the plate cylinder is markedly reduced, and troubles such as contamination of the back side of a printing paper and enrolling of the paper are markedly reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the display device which is excellent in uniform space setting and durability and to prevent the impairment of the characteristics intrinsic to a film by using two specific powders as spacers. CONSTITUTION:The spacers 1, 2 consist of the spherical or fibrous hard powder 1 and the cylindrical or hemispherical powder 2 only one flat surface of which is adhered to the film substrate. The powder 1 includes, for example, spherical powders such as glass beads, silica beads, alumina powder, and crosslinked polystyrene beads and cut powders of glass fibers or carbon fibers, etc. The powder 2 is the powder having adhesive power and consist of a thermoplastic resin and is more specifically exemplified by hot melt adhesive resins consisting of polyester, nylon, vinyl acetate, etc. The high gap accuracy and improved durability are obtd. in this way without impairing the resilience which is the characteristics of the film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the grade of a display image by using the flame resistant calcined matter of spherical resin particles having a uniform particle size as a spacer. CONSTITUTION:This spacer is the spherical particles which are made of the flame resistant calcined matter formed by heat treating the resin selected from a celluloses, lignin, furfuryl alcohol, formaldehyde resin, xylene formaldehyde resin, polvinylidene chloride, polyimides, polydividyl benzene, polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene, and polyvinyl alcohol in a 200-700 deg.C range and have 1-30mum average particle size. This spacer has the black color intrinsic to carbon and obviates whitening of the image and lowering of a contrast ratio and, therefore, the image grade is greatly improved. In addition, colors are not eluted in the liquid crystal or the like and the excellent stability is obtd., as dyes and pigments, etc., are not used.
