Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyoxymethylene resin composition excellent in thermal stability resistance and mechanical properties by blending a polyoxymethylene with a hindered phenol having a specific molecular weight, specified metallic hydroxide and phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. polyoxymethylene, preferably prepared by copolymerizing formaldehyde and/or trioxane and other cyclic ethers in the presence of preferably a Lewis acid catalyst and adding a hindered amine compound expressed by the formula (R is H or 1-30C monofunctional organic group; R to R are 1-5C alkyl; n is >=1; R is n-valent organic group) to stop the polymerization with (B) 0.001-5 pts.wt. hindered phenol having >=300 molecular weight, (C) 0.001-5 pts.wt. at least one of magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, strontium hydroxide and barium hydroxide and (D) 0.001-5 pts.wt. phenoxy resin.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in heat stability, by mixing a specified polymer with an additive, a hindered phenolic antioxidant and a formaldehyde absorbent. CONSTITUTION:Trioxane and 0.1-10mol% cyclic ether (e.g., ethylene oxide) are bulk-polymerized together at 60-115 deg.C in the presence of at least one polymerization catalyst selected from among BF3 (hydrate) and coordination compounds of BF3 with O- or S-containing organic compounds (e.g., BF3 diethyl etherate), and the catalyst is deactivated by the addition of a hindered amine to obtain a polymer (A). Component A is mixed with 0.001-5wt% at least one additive (B) selected from among the hydroxides, inorganic oxides, organic acid salts and alkoxides of alkali (alkaline earth) metals, 0.001-5wt% hindered phenolic antioxidant (C) [e.g., 2,2-methylene-bis(4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol)] and 0.001-5wt% reagent (C) which absorbs formaldehyde by reacting with it (e.g., guanamine).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer having improved heat resistance, by subjecting a blend of trioxan and a cyclic ether to bulk polymerization by the use of a BF3 type catalyst, deactivating the catalyst with a specific compound and further specifically treating the formed polymer. CONSTITUTION:First, a blend of trioxan and a cycle ether is subjected to bulk polymerization in the presence of a polymerization catalyst selected from BF3 (hydrate) and a coordination compound of BF3 and an organic compound containing oxygen atom and sulfur atom. Then, after the polymerization reaction is over, a hindered amine compound shown by the formula (R is H or 1-30C monofunctional organic group; R -R are 1-5C alkyl; n is >=1 integer; R is n functional organic group) is added to the polymerization system to deactivate the catalyst. Further, a compound selected from an alkaline (earth) metal hydroxide, inorganic weak acid salt, etc., and a heat-resistant stabilizer are added to the polymer, which is heated at 100-260 deg.C to eliminate the unstable end of the formed polymer. Then, a formaldehyde absorbent is added to the polymer, which is kneaded under heating to give the aimed polymer containing an oxymethylene unit and an oxyalkylene unit.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polyether, containing little gelatinous material and having improved heat, chemical and hydrolytic resistance, by polycondensing a specific dihydric phenol with specific dihalobenzenoid compound in the presence of potassium carbonate and sodium sulfate in a polar solvent. CONSTITUTION:One or more dihydric phenols, preferably hydroquinone are polycondensed with one or more dihalobenzenoid compound having an electron attractive group at least one position of the o- or p-positions to the halogen atom, preferably 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone, etc., preferably at 1:1 molar ratio in the presence of potassium carbonate, preferably at 1.00-1.10 molar ratio of the potassium carbonate to the monomer and sodium sulfate, preferably in an amount of 1.0-300g based on 1mol monomer in a polar solvent, e.g. dimethyl sulfoxide, etc., to afford the aimed polyether.
