Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing thermal barrier coated articles such as combustor tiles and turbine blades.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a thermal barrier coated article includes: (a) a step of forming an article having a plurality of projections 70 wherein each of projections has a first end 72 adjacent to the first surface 66 and a second end 74 away from the first surface, as well as at least one blind passage extending through the respective projection extending from the second surface 68 of the article through the article and through the respective projection towards the second end 74 of the respective projection, wherein the at least one blind passage in the respective projection is closed at the second end of the respective projection; (b) a step of depositing a thermal barrier coating 76 on the first surface 66 of an article 58A around each of the projections and on the second ends 74 of the projections; (c) a step of removing the thermal barrier coating 76 from the second ends of the projections; and (d) a step of removing the second end of the respective projection to form respective passages 84 extending from the second surface of the article to the second end of the projection.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved thermal spraying apparatus which promotes the mixing of fine particles supplied in the axial direction inside a carrier stream with a heated effluent stream without introducing remarkable disorder into the effluent or the carrier stream. SOLUTION: An axial direction injection port includes a plurality of chevrons at the distant end of the port. The chevrons are arranged radially around the circumference of the distant end of the axial direction injection port so as to increase the common area between two flow streams in the outlet of the port. Abstract:
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for applying an insulative coating to a mandrel used in an electromagnetic telemetry antenna assembly. One process includes applying a bond coat to at least a portion of an outer radial surface of a mandrel; applying an electrical isolation layer to the bond coat; applying a first sealant layer to the electrical isolation layer; and heat treating the mandrel in an oven.
