Abstract:
The present invention provides a curable composition containing an organic polymer having a crosslinkable silicon group, the composition having sufficient usable life and having adhesive properties with respect to an adherend (substrate) that are equivalent to those of the case where aminosilane is included. The composition comprises: (A) a crosslinkable silicon group-containing organic polymer; and (B) a crosslinkable silicon group-containing compound that forms, by means of light, at least one type of amino group selected from the group consisting of primary amino groups and secondary amino groups. The crosslinkable silicon group-containing organic polymer (A) is preferably at least one type selected from the group consisting of crosslinkable silicon group-containing polyoxyalkylene polymers and crosslinkable silicon group-containing (meth)acrylic-based polymers.
Abstract:
Moisture-curing adhesives simultaneously having high tensile strength and elongation are prepared by admixing a silane-terminated polyurethane or polyether polymer having a defined and limited molecular weight, finely divided silica, and an organosilicon compound containing basic nitrogen.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a curable composition useful as a contact adhesive which has a high rate of initial tack development, high tack strength, and long retention time of the developed tack. The curable composition includes an organic polymer (Q) containing a reactive silyl group, and a linear organic polymer (P) having a number average molecular weight larger than that of the polymer (Q) and having a reactive silyl group containing three hydrolyzable groups at only one terminal. The organic polymer (P) and the organic polymer (Q) are mixed at a mixing ratio (P):(Q), in terms of parts by weight, of 60:40 to 5:95.
Abstract:
The present invention provides curable compositions comprising non-tin metal catalysts that accelerate the condensation curing of moisture-curable silicones/non-silicones. In particular, the present invention provides bismuth(III) sulfonate complexes that are particularly suitable as replacements for organotin in sealant and RTV formulations. In one embodiment, the present invention provides bismuth (III) camphorsulfonate and bismuth(III) methanesulfonate complexes. Further, these bismuth(III) sulfonate complexes are comparable or superior to organotin such as DBTDL, exhibit certain behavior in the presence of components that allow for tuning or adjusting the cure characteristics of the present compositions, and provide good adhesion and storage stability.
Abstract:
Provided is a waterborne adhesive composition comprising (i) an aqueous medium; (ii) one or more isocyanate compounds dispersed in said aqueous medium, and (iii) one or more functional silane compounds dispersed in said aqueous medium.
Abstract:
A bond adhesive composition comprising a polymer having a silicon-containing hydrolyzable terminal group and a hydrocarbon resin, where the composition is substantially devoid of phenolic resin.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a curing agent for moisture-curing compositions which includes at least one aqueous emulsion of at least one epoxy resin. Curing agents according to the invention are especially used for the accelerated curing of moisture-curing compositions which are based on polyurethane polymers that have isocyanate groups or of silane-functional polymers.
Abstract:
Disclosed are perfluoroethers and perfluoroether compositions useful in high temperature aerospace applications. The perfluoroethers can be adapted for use with various curing chemistries.
Abstract:
In a curable composition that contains at least one polymer having at least one terminal group of the general formula (I)-An-R—SiXYZ (I), at least one cyclic compound that contains at least one structural motif of formula (II) as a constituent of the ring structure; and at least one cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid dialkyl ester in which the alkyl residues of the ester groups each, mutually independently, contain 1 to 20 carbon atoms. The curable composition can be used as an adhesive, sealant, and/or coating material. A combination of a cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid dialkyl ester, in which the alkyl residues of the ester groups each, mutually independently, contain 1 to 20 carbon atoms and a cyclic compound that contains at least one structural motif of the general formula (II) as a constituent of the ring structure, as a plasticizer/curing catalyst system in curable compositions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an adhesive composition, including: 10 to 95% of a moisture cross-linkable polymer (A), the main chain includes 2 silyl terminal groupings, each of which includes at least one hydrolyzable group bonded to the silicon atom; 1 to 60% of a mineral filler (B) in the form of particles having a size of between 1 nm and 0.2 mm; and 0.2 to 7% of a cross-linking catalyst (C) consisting of titanium tetraisopropoxide.
