Abstract: The invention relates to a cylinder crankcase (1) in light-metal diecasting for a high-speed piston machine, especially an internal combustion engine, which consists of cylinder barrels, a cooling-water jacket, side walls and upper halves of the main bearing (2) as well as bearing caps (3). The upper halves of the main bearing (2) and the bearing caps (3) consist of cast iron alloys, are separately embodied, can be mounted and are screwed against the crankcast (1) by means of screws (4, 5). The aim of the invention is to improve performance of a piston machine which is provided with such a crankcase (1). To this end, the upper halves of the main bearing (2) are screwed against the crankcase (1) regardless of the bearing caps (3), whereby outer screws (4) of the upper halves of the main bearing (2) are arranged further to the outside in relation to inner screws (5) of the bearing caps (3).
