Abstract:
An accumulator (ACC) in which a container main body (1) and a closure member (5) are screw-joined together. A reverse-buttress internal thread or an internal thread having an included angle of 90 degrees is used as an internal thread of the screw-joined portion. The reverse-buttress internal thread is formed in such a way that the inclination angle (β) of a clearance flank of the buttress internal thread is the inclination angle (β) of a reverse pressure flank (20A) receiving a load, the inclination angle (θ) of a pressure flank is the inclination angle (θ) of a reverse clearance flank (2B). The internal thread having an included angle of 90 degrees is formed in such a way that inclination angles (α),(γ) of both flanks are equal and the included angle (δ) is about 90 degrees.
Abstract:
A metallic bellows, composed of precipitation hardening stainless steel, includes ridge portions and valley portions formed alternately and continuously, an average grain size of 10 to 15 μm, and compressive residual stress of not less than 500 MPa provided to at least surfaces of the ridge portions and the valleys by surface working.
Abstract:
A piston for a low pressure fluid accumulator of a hydraulic control unit of a vehicle brake system includes a cylindrical body having an outer surface defining a first end surface of the piston. The first end surface includes a plurality of interconnected ridges. The ridges have outer surfaces and form cavities therebetween. Each ridge is adapted to provide a sealing surface between the first end surface of the piston and an inner surface of a fluid accumulator in which the piston may be inserted. In one embodiment of the invention, the closed end of the piston includes a thick self-supporting wall. A thin skirt extends from the thick self-supporting wall toward the open end of the piston. A plurality of axially extending skirt support ribs is formed on the inner surface of the piston skirt.
Abstract:
An accumulator piston for an automatic transmission. The piston comprises two components, the first and second being cup elements welded together with their closed ends in abutting relation. The lower cup includes a curled back portion with a radial flange having an axially extending bi-directional oil seal thereon, and spaced apart recesses in the curled back portion to permit oil to flow therein. The upper cup includes a radial flange of reduced diameter compared to the lower cup flange. The flange also has a lip seal thereon. The piston is spring-loaded and moves up and down in a bore and counterbore in response to fluid flow on either side of the piston to absorb shifting shocks.
Abstract:
A pressure vessel contains a flexible separator comprising three layers, an outer layer, an inner layer and an intermediate layer which is at least partly impermeable to gases. The intermediate layer comprises a metal film. A particular application of the pressure vessel is to braking circuits.
Abstract:
A low cost repairable accumulator device having an effective seal defined between an end cap carrying the gas charging valve assembly and the remaining components of the pressure vessel without the use of O-rings or like auxiliary sealing members. The bladder assembly incorporates integral protuberances which coact with portions of the pressure vessel and/or the end cap to achieve the desired seals.
Abstract:
A hydraulic accumulator has a chamber divided into compartments by a slidable member and a bellows. The bellows is provided at its outer and inner edges with axially extending portions which nest together when the bellows is compressed by discharge of hydraulic fluid from one of the compartments, whereby relative lateral movement of the bellows segments is prevented.
