Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for storing pressurised fluid and/or reactors generating pressurised fluids, in particular for motor vehicles, comprising a tank having one or several storage and/or reactor compartments, further including an outer casing (14) which encloses at a distance said tank (1), and spacers forming supports (18, 28), placed in the gap separating the tank from the outer casing and whereof the inner end parts are respectively supported in hollow parts (3, 5) provided in the two opposite surfaces (2a, 2b) of the tank and the outer ends are supported against the inner surface of the outer casing.
Abstract:
A compact, on-site storage facility for the storage of natural gas comprises a compressor (2), a decompressor or pressure reducing regulator (3), a steel pipe storage system (5), and means for containing the gas in the system. Optional components of the facility include monitors, filters, dryers, test stations and cathodic protection systems.
Abstract:
Provided are vacuum-insulated articles that comprise an evacuated space disposed between first and second walls and a reflective material disposed within the evacuated space. Also provided are methods of fabricating such articles.
Abstract:
A high-pressure container includes a plurality of body parts arranged side by side, and each of the body parts has a cylindrical shape and has an opening at at least one of its axially opposite end portions. The high-pressure container also includes a cap configured to close the openings of the body parts as a unit, and a communication channel provided inside the cap for communicating interiors of the body parts with each other.
Abstract:
A set of fittings for a fuel tank including an elongated stem and a ferrule. The stem includes an elongated coupling body at one end configured to couple within a cavity defined by an end of a fuel tank liner. The ferrule includes a ferrule body having a first ferrule end and a second ferrule end; a lip defining a coupling orifice at the first ferrule end with the stem being operable to extend though the coupling orifice and engaging the lip, and a ferrule cavity defined by the ferrule body that extends between the first and second ferrule ends and opening to the coupling orifice at the first ferrule end and a ferrule opening at the second ferrule end, the ferrule cavity configured to surround the end of the fuel tank liner.
Abstract:
The conformable pressure vessel having: a plurality of individual pressure vessels, the individual pressure vessels each having an outer wall enclosing an inner volume. The inner volumes are fluidly connected to each other. The individual pressures vessels are oriented parallel to each other.
Abstract:
A gas storage structure includes: a container and a continuous coiled pipe supported by the container, the continuous coiled pipe including a major portion formed of thin walled pipe and a thick walled pipe defining an end of the continuous coiled pipe, the thick walled pipe having a wall thickness thicker than the thin walled pipe, the thick walled pipe being welded at a welded joint to the major portion to place an inner diameter of the thick walled pipe into communication with an inner diameter of the major portion and the thick walled pipe being connected to the container, while the major portion is free of any rigid, such as welded, connections to the container.
Abstract:
A method of making a tank for storing fluid that includes generating a resinated braid layer on an elongated liner having a plurality of successively alternating rigid and flexible portions along the length of the liner. Generating the resinated braid layer on the liner includes feeding the liner into a braiding machine and applying resin to a plurality of fibers during a braiding process to generate a resinated plurality of fibers and generating, over a length of the liner, by the braiding machine, the resinated braid layer defined by the resinated plurality of fibers.
Abstract:
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, a conformable high pressure gas fuel storage system has a high pressure gaseous storage vessel with a central section disposed between end sections and in fluid communication therewith. The end and central sections have hollow geometric objects. The geometric objects have self-similarity providing the gas storage vessel with a fractal geometry. Each geometric object of each end section branches into a plurality of the geometric objects of the central section. The geometric objects of the central section have a smaller cross-section and thinner outer wall than the geometric objects of the end sections. The geometric objects of at least the central section are formable with bends to a configuration to conform the gas storage vessel to a space in a vehicle in which the gas storage vessel is packaged.
Abstract:
A system for storing natural gas comprises a plurality of straight sections of tube. The plurality of straight sections of tube are dense packed. The plurality of straight sections of tube are configured to fill a designated volume.
