Abstract: Ein Verfahren zur Bedienung eines Spacemenüs, das für ein elektronisches Gerät mit einem Bildschirm geeignet ist, wird bereitgestellt. Bei dem vorliegenden Verfahren wird eine Vielzahl an Objekten sequentiell entlang einem linearen Pfad auf einer Menüebene angezeigt, um ein Spacemenü zu bilden. Daraufhin wird eine Bedienung des Anwenders registriert und zur Bedienung des Spacemenüs verwendet. Die Objekte auf der Menüebene werden entsprechend der bei der Bedienung avisierten Position des Objektes gedreht, um das avisierte Objekt aus den anderen Objekten hervorstehen zu lassen, wobei die Richtung der Rotationsachse nicht parallel zu der Grundrichtung der Anzeigeebene des Bildschirms ist. Infolgedessen wird eine dem bei der Anwendung ausgewählten Objekt entsprechende Funktion ausgeführt.

Abstract: A user interface displays a background frame 40, such as a predetermined picture, comprising a plurality of areas in which each area respectively corresponds to one of a plurality of sub-menus of a function menu, each submenu 61 including a plurality of options 611-614. Under normal circumstances the submenus are not displayed on the background frame. When a trigger signal triggered by an object on one of the plurality of areas of the background frame is received, the corresponding sub-menu 61 is displayed on the area of the background frame which the trigger signal triggered on. The display is preferably a touch screen where the signal is triggered by a user 70 touching an area of the screen. Alternatively, the object may be a cursor controlled by a mouse where pressing a button of the mouse when it is moved to an area causes the signal to be triggered.
