    Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently regenerate a resin by bringing a basic anion exchange resin after ion exchange is over into contact with a base, displacing acidic anion with hydroxyl ion and subsequently bringing the resin into contact with dil. mineral acid to remove metal cation. CONSTITUTION: A resin, containing acidic anion which displaced hydroxyl ion at cationic site on a basic anion exchange resin and accumulated metal cation Fe , Fe or the like, is brought into contact with a base selected from alkali metal hydroxides and ammonium hydroxide to displace acidic anion from cationic site with hydroxyl ion. Subsequently, after an anion exchange resin is brought into contact with dil. mineral acid and accumulated metal cations are removed, the resin is brought into contact with a base to remove residual mineral acid and metal salts and the hydroxyl ion is displaced at cationic site to regenerate the basic anion exchange resin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently regenerate an acidic cation exchange resin used in the reactivation of spent alkanolamine by treating the resin with aq. ammonia to elute alkanolamine and then treating the resin with a weak mineral acid soln. CONSTITUTION: An acidic cation exchange resin used in the reactivation of spent alkanolamine is treated with an aq. ammonia soln. to elute alkanolamine from the resin with the min. displacement of alkali metal cations. The resin is then treated with a weak mineral acid soln. to elute the ammonia, metal cations and remaining alkanolamine. The resin is thus regenerated. The alkanolamine is, e.g. protonated ethanolamine, diethanolamine, methyldiethanolamine or diisopropylamine.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To couple the energy easily with the wall of a test pit or a casing thereof by imparting an orbital movement at least to a part of an outer wall of a tubular frame means and then generating an orbital transverse wave to he wall of the test pit. CONSTITUTION: The seismic source 10 comprises a frame 26 having upper and lower masses 28, 30 being held by beam sets 32, 33 while being aligned therewith. The inner beam set 32 is secured to define a tubular chamber 34 between the masses 28. 30 and covered with an elastic membrane 52. A drive motor 36 is secured in the mass 28 with the dive shaft 40 being fixed to a shaft 40 and provided with an eccentric disc 42 and the rotation thereof is extended to a circular path f48 around the axis of the shaft 40. consequently, at a point 50 where the disk 42 has the longest radius, the elastic membrane 52 is displaced outward through a fluid in the tubular chamber 34 and displaced inward on the opposite side. Consequently, the outer part of the elastic membrane 52 generates a rotational dipole traverse wave coupled with the wall of pit 12 through the fluid 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To adjust the length and provide a substantially neutral bouyancy by providing a tension member with upper, central and lower annular areas, forming the respective areas by many segmentations, joining the same to form a single tension member. CONSTITUTION: A mooring tension member 46 is so constructed that a central area 50 and the connected upper and lower thick wall tension connecting areas 52, 54 are integrated by a thin wall annular central area 50 having a smaller diameter and the tapered upper and lower areas 56, 58. The upper tension connecting area includes an enlarged upper flex connector 60, which can be adjusted along the longitudinal direction of the upper tension connecting area 52 by a thread ridge or the other adjusting means. Similarly, the lower tension connecting area 54 includes a lower flex connector 62. The tension members 46 are joined to be used as a single tension member, and formed as a thin wall annular member to be neutrally bouyant in water concerning the object of tension.
