Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus for assigning a wavelength in a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) ring-type optical network and a method therefor are provided to dynamically assign the wavelength according to the state of the network in consideration of a sparse wavelength conversion and a limited wavelength conversion. CONSTITUTION: A node unit(30) has a plurality of nodes, and receives a call setup request from the outside. A wavelength assignment control unit(20) connects to the node unit(30), and calculates usable paths between the nodes by a sparse wavelength conversion and a limited wavelength conversion, when the call setup request is generated. The wavelength assignment control unit(20) calculates the total number of gaps per usable path, and assigns a wavelength to a path with the minimum total number of the gaps.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for controlling ATM switch duplexing within an RNC(Radio Network Controller) in a mobile communication system is provided to duplex boards and links related to switch control within the RNC, thereby continuously supplying a service even during a switching process at the request of an operator or when an error is generated in hardware or software. CONSTITUTION: An application layer performs initialization(401), and a middleware duplexing processor decides a duplexing state(402), to determine an operation mode(403) and a standby mode(404). In the operation mode(403), if the standby mode(404) is restarted, an SCP requests initial dump data of the operation mode(405). The operation mode extracts connection information(406), informs the standby mode of the initial dump data(407), and stores connection information for backup in a duplexing data region(408). If a connection setup/cancellation request is received from an ACP(409), an application layer of the operation mode generates backup data(410), and transmits a connection setup/cancellation processing result to the ACP(411), then requests duplexing data backup to the standby mode(412). The standby mode stores the connection information for backup in the duplexing data region(413), and informs the operation mode of a backup processing result(414).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A 2-phase weighted process cell scheduling method in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network is provided to maintain the fairness of a cell service by using the scheduling of both a time stamp type and a frame type. CONSTITUTION: A weight value, a timer value, and a certain queue threshold value are set up in a plurality of channels. The minimum timer channel having the minimum timer value is retrieved among a plurality of channels. Cells of the minimum timer channel are transmitted, and a certain value is assigned to a timer value of the minimum timer channel. The maximum queue channel having the longest queue length is retrieved among a plurality of channels. Cells of the maximum queue channel are transmitted, a weight value of the maximum queue channel is decreased by 1, and a certain value is assigned to the timer value of the maximum queue channel.

Provided is a method for managing a low duty operation of a small base station. The small base station determines a low duty cycle pattern in which an available section to perform a transmission operation by activating a wireless interface and an unavailable section in which the transmission operation is not performed are repeated and supplies low duty cycle pattern information including a start offset to instruct a wireless frame in which a cycle pattern starts and the length of the available interval to a terminal.
