    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for inhibiting ridging of Al-Mg-Si alloy sheet is provided to suppress development of Goss orientation and substantially reduce ridging of the alloy sheet accordingly by properly controlling shape factor (l/d) related with size and reduction ratio of rolling rolls in the rough rolling step during hot rolling. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the process of maintaining shape factor (l/d) in front of rough rolling represented in the following mathematical expression to 0.8 or less and maintaining shape factor (l/d) in rear of rough rolling to 0.5 or more as maintaining frictional coefficient of rolling rolls with the work to 0.1 or less in the rough rolling step when hot rolling an alloy slab in the manufacturing process of the Al-Mg-Si alloy sheet. In mathematical expression, l is length of the roll projected on the sheet in a rolling roll bite, d is an average thickness of the sheet, R is radius of the rolling rolls, di is an initial thickness of the sheet, and df is a final thickness of the sheet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for increasing formability of aluminum-magnesium alloy sheet is provided to actively control texture in alloy and increase average plastic strain ratio by using cross rolling process for converting rolling direction to an angle of 90 degrees per each pass during cold rolling in the manufacturing process of aluminum-magnesium alloy sheet. CONSTITUTION: The method for increasing formability of aluminum-magnesium alloy sheet comprises the process of rolling aluminum-magnesium alloy as converting rolling direction to an angle of 90 degrees per each pass during cold rolling in the manufacturing process of aluminum-magnesium alloy sheet, thereby developing the {011} texture in such a manner that {011} texture has at least 15% or more of volume fraction for the total volume after performing final annealing.
