    Abstract: The fabric to be treated, for the most part, is made to pass through in front to a blower that shoots a current of air misted with water through the fabric. The fabric, at least in the area where the current is being added, lies on a pierced surface (for example a drum) so that the mixture has to go through the fabric. The surface in question is preferably made from listels engraved towards the fabric so that it has to rub on the edges of the grooves. Then the fabric passes onto a cylinder connected to a charged cell, through which the actual fabric tension is shown, tension that is compared against a preset reference value to obtain an error value that is used to bring the tension to the reference value.

    Abstract: To prevent the fabric leaving the rollers 3 from becoming entangled between these latter and the downstream guide finger and hence undergoing damage, upper and lower fingers (guide elements) 11 and 7 of low friction coefficient are provided which between them define for the fabric a passageway having an entry cross-section, defined between profiles 15 and 9, smaller than the exit cross-section, defined between profiles 10 and 16, so that the fabric separates from the rollers 3 as it enters the fulling box. The box includes a lower fixed, but adjustable plate and an upper hinged plate. Finger 7 is coated with or at least partly constructed of a low friction material such as polytetrafluoroethylene, ceramic materials or materials based on Mn and Cr oxides.

    Abstract: 1,273,489. Fulling-machines. A. BERTOLDI. 2 Sept., 1970 [5 Sept., 1969], No. 42039/70. Heading D1S. A fulling machine comprising a fulling channel 3 and means 1, 2 for feeding fabric webs into the channel 3, is characterised in that the channel 3 is divided into at least two zones by at least two independent wall members 6 which are pivoted on a common axis 7 and pressure means 8 is provided for operating upon each member 6. As shown, fabric webs in rope form are supplied by two movably-supported driven cylinders 1, 2 into the entry end of the channel 3 defined by fixed fingers 4. The bottom of the channel 3 is defined either by idle rollers 5 or a plate which are or is stationary or movable in the direction of the arrow A. A series of members 6, e.g. five, forms the top of the channel. The piston 10 of a doubleacting pneumatic cylinder 9 acts on each member 6 so that fabric ropes of a different lengths and/or type may be fulled simultaneously.
