    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a battery and to eliminate the difference of frame speed when continuous photographing is simulated and when film is loaded by stopping film feeding when film is not loaded and inhibiting a subsequent action in the time required for feeding film. CONSTITUTION:The title camera is provided with a detecting means which detects whether film is loaded or not and a control circuit which stops motor driving in order to feed film after preparating actions are completed when the detecting means detects there is not loaded film and which inhibits next release in a prescribed time. Therefore, when film is not loaded, preparing actions such as shutter charging are performed, but wasteful driving for feeding film is not carried out. Thus, power consumption can be reduced when the camera is demonstrated, thereby prolonging the service life of the battery. However, necessary motion for demonstration such as shutter traveling can be possible.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the compound-eye camera provided with a stereoscopic display function where no high display speed (frame rate) is required in the case of displaying a stereoscopic video image. SOLUTION: The compound-eye camera 1 is provided integrally with image pickup optical systems 2, 3 and a display device 4, two images having a parallax picked up by the image pickup optical systems 2, 3 are split as stripes in a horizontal direction and arranged alternately by one line each to be synthesized with a stripe image and the stripe synthesis image is displayed on the display device 4 by an incorporated display control section.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic picture display method and a stereoscopic picture display device using the method by which a stereoscopic picture is observed without increasing display speed required for a display device and an observation area where stereoscopic vision is possible is made wide. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a light source means 1 illuminating a mask substrate 2 where a mask pattern 9 consisting of checkered aperture part 8 and light shielding part is formed with a surface light source, a vertical cylindrical lens array 3 and the transmission type display device 4. In the case of displaying a horizontal stripe picture consisting of a parallax picture for a right eye and a parallax picture for a left eye on the device 4, transmitting luminous flux projected from the light source means 1 through the horizontal stripe picture through the lens array 3 and separating the luminous flux to at least two areas so as to enable an observer to visually confirm it as the stereoscopic picture, the width in a horizontal direction of a pair of the aperture part 8 and the light shielding part in the horizontal direction on the mask pattern 9 is twice or more times as large as the size of a picture element in the horizontal direction of the display device 4.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe a stereoscopic image by separating right and left stripe picture elements by controlling the mutual relative positions of plural mask substrates and changing a mask pattern obtained by laying over a plurality of mask substrates. SOLUTION: A composite barrier 7H is constituted of mask substrates 62a and 62b. The mask pattern 63 is formed by laying over partial mask patterns 63a and 63b. The mask substrates 62a and 62b are relatively moved by specified quantity in a horizontal direction maintaining a very small interstice by making surfaces where the patterns are formed mutually confront by a moving means 20. Two mask substrates change the relative positions in the case of three- dimensional image display, so that the mask pattern 63 of the composite barrier 7H is changed. Thus, at the time of the three-dimensional image display, the mask substrates 62a and 62b are laid over in a state where a deviation is eliminated in a right-and-left direction. Then, only the aperture part 64 of the partial mask patterns 63a and 63b is opened, and the other part is light-shielded, so that a mode is changed so as to observe a stripe image as a stereoscopic image.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the brightness and also to substantially reduce the crosstalk of a stereoscopic image display device by providing the optical modulation elements which are arrayed in a two-dimensional form, a parallax barrier which has a prescribed opening part and a light shielding part, and an element which divides and deflects the light received from an illumination light source. SOLUTION: Plural parallax images inputted to a terminal 10 are divided into stripes by a stripe generation circuit 8 and synthesized with each other into a synthetic image. The data on the synthetic image are inputted to a display driver 7 for display of the stripe image syntheses 6. On the other hand, a back light 5 is lit by a back light driver 9 to serve as a diffusing surface light source. The light of this light source is converted into the illumination luminous flux that has high directivity within only a surface including the array direction of optical modulation elements. Then the illumination luminous flux is made incident on a hologram diffraction grating 3. This gating 3 includes the concentrical grating patterns within its surface and therefore the diffracted beams are condensed in the directions of both right and left eyes ER and EL respectively. Thus the images which are effectively bright can be obtained.

CONSTITUTION: The part of eccentric mirrors 2-4 to 2-1 being a 2nd optical member is set in a housing A, the moving part constituted of an eccentric mirror 2-5 being a 1st optical member and an LCD 4 is set in a housing BR, and the housing BR is constituted to move in a specified direction. Since the optical system for a left eye is constituted similarly to the optical system for a right eye, the exit pupils of the optical systems for the right and the left eyes are moved in an opposite direction each other in a direction nearly orthogonal to an observation direction by respectively moving the moving part constituted of the LCD 4 and the mirror 2-5 and corresponding members for the left eye symmetrically in a specified direction. Thus, the pupil distance of a twin-lens type HMD is easily adjusted.
