Abstract:
A silver recovery element (10) for treating a photographic developer solution containing silver ions comprises a substrate (20) having thereon a hydrophilic colloid layer containing physical development nuclei. The invention also comprises a process for recovering silver from a photographic developer solution containing silver ions, such process comprising contacting the solution with the silver recovery element. The contacting is for a time sufficient to reduce the concentration of silver in the solution to a desired level. The recovery element and process for its use are useful in treating a a seasoned photographic developer solution containing silver ions.
Abstract:
A camera having a sensor array, a lens, and shutter blades, for focusing the lens in preparation for exposing a frame of photographic film, comprises a means for oscillating the shutter blades, separately, between open and closed positions to expose said sensor array with image light passing through corresponding pupils of the lens. A control means, responsive to said oscillating means, controls the sensor array to sample image light received through the corresponding pupils. A comparing means compares the sensed image light of the pupils with each other and produces a focus adjustment signal representative of a direction of focus error. Lastly, a focusing means, responsive to said focus adjustment signal, focuses said lens according to the focus error.
Abstract:
A photographic processing apparatus for processing a photosensitive material (14) with a processing solution (16) including first and second processing ingredients (18, 20) includes a processing tank (10) for holding the processing solution and for processing the photosensitive material. The used processing solution is discharged from the processing tank into a separator (44) where the second processing ingredient (20) is removed from the processing solution leaving the first processing ingredient (18). The first processing ingredient is circulated back to the processing tank.
Abstract:
A frame transfer image sensor having a lateral overflow drain and a structure for controlling the charge transfer to the drain during charge collection to improve exposure latitude.
Abstract:
An application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that is programmable for provision of timing and control of imaging signals, including genlock and defect correction functions. These features may be customized by a VIA mask change, thus allowing the basic device architecture to be fabricated in advance.
Abstract:
A real image zooming viewfinder (100; 200) has an internal real image that drifts between two optical components (M2, M3). The field mask (F1) is placed at the internal image location and is of a thickness (t) equal to or greater than the drift distance.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the production of an equilibrium mixture of 2-hydroxytetrahydrofuran and 4-hydroxybutanal by a two-step process comprising (1) heating 2,5-dihydrofuran in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a phosphine, ruthenium or rhodium to convert the 2,5-dihydrofuran to 2,3-dihydrofuran; and (2) contacting 2,3-dihydrofuran with water in the presence of an acidic catalyst to convert the 2,3-dihydrofuran to a mixture of 2-hydroxytetrahydrofuran and 4-hydroxybutanal. Also disclosed is a process for the continuous production of an aqueous solution of 2-hydroxytetrahydrofuran and 4-hydroxybutanal. The mixture of 2-hydroxytetrahydrofuran and 4-hydroxybutanal may be catalytically hydrogenated to produce 1,4-butanediol.
Abstract:
A digital electronic camera (24), that can compensate a mismatch between a high resolution image sensing means (26) and a nominally low resolution internal display (36) comprises a scrolling means (38), so that a preselected portion of an image captured by the image sensing means (26) may be displayed at full resolution, according the memory pixel starting readout address determined by the set of scroll control buttons (46).
Abstract:
The apparatus of the invention generates an array of modified data values related to an array of input data values in response to commands from a user. The invention is particularly suited for color image processing. The apparatus includes storage means for storing at least one data transform definition and data processing means for identifying at least one of the transform definitions in response to a user's selection of at least one data transformation and for applying the identified transform definitions to the array of input data values. A user interface is provided. The interface comprises an input device and a display. The display displays a graphical representation of the user instructions and the transform definitions. The user selects and moves on the display the graphical representation of at least one of the transform definitions. A signal processor identifies the selected at least one of the transform definitions and applies the selected transform definitions to the array of input data values to arrive at modified values. Thus, the tonal properties of a picture can be changed. The invention further comprises means for generating a single composite transform definition, such that application of the single composite transform definition to the input data values generates the same output data values as would the individual serial application of a selected at least two transform definitions.
