Abstract: The canceller includes correlators (54,64,74), spread spectrum processors (55,65,75), subtracting circuits (150) and channel correlators (146). Using chip-code signals generated from chip codeword signal generators (52,62,72), the correlators (54,64,74) despread the spread spectrum signal. The spread spectrum processors (55,65,75) use a timed version of the chip-code signals generated for spread spectrum processing the despread signals. The subtracting circuits (150) subtract from the spread spectrum signal, each of the N-1 spread spectrum despread signals generating a subtracted signal for recovering a code channel using an ith chip-code signal. The channel-correlator (146) despreads the subtracted signal.

Abstract: A communication unit for use in a spread-spectrum communication system having a plurality of the units which allow for simultaneous communication among of a plurality of active units, each communication unit comprising a command signal generator for generating a command signal; a transmitter for transmitting communication signals at one of two frequencies and for transmitting said command signal; and a receiver for receiving communication signals at one of said two frequencies and for receiving said command signal, whereby upon initiation of said command signal, said command signal is transmitted for receipt by all active units in the system and the unit transmitting said command signal receives communication signals at a selected frequency of said two frequencies and transmits communication signals at another frequency, and whereby upon reception of said command signal from another unit in the system, the unit receiving said command signal transmits a communication signal at said selected frequency of said two frequencies and receives communication signals at said another frequency.

Abstract: Un método de recepción de señales de canal de amplio espectro dentro de una señal de amplio espectro, comprendiendo el método las etapas de: a) despropagar una señal de amplio espectro recibida para cada uno de una pluralidad de canales CDMA para producir una primera estimación para cada canal; b) para cada canal, propagar la estimación obtenida de la etapa anterior para todos los otros canales para producir la propagación de señales de otros canales y restar la propagación de señales de otros canales a partir de la señal recibida y despropagar el resultado restado para producir una estimación siguiente para ese canal; c) repetir la etapa b) un número de veces seleccionado; y d) utilizar las estimaciones para cada canal producidas por las etapas a), b) y c) para emitir una señal de canal para cada canal.

Abstract: A phased array spread spectrum system for maximizing signal strength of a spread-spectrum signal with multipath through the use of a first RF/IF section 21, a second RF/IF section 22, a first digital delay device 27, a second digital delay device 28, a first summer 29, a second summer 30, a despreader 31, a magnitude device 32, a shift register 33, and a comparator 34. The first RF/IF section 21 receives a plurality of spread-spectrum signals and the second RF/IF section 22 receives a plurality of phased versions of the plurality of spread-spectrum signals. The first and second digital delay devices 27, 28 delay the received plurality of spread-spectrum signals with respect to the plurality of phased versions of the plurality of spread-spectrum signals by a plurality of delays. The first and second summers 29, 30 combine the delayed spread-spectrum signals and the plurality of phased versions of the plurality of spread-spectrum signals as a plurality of combined signals. The despreader 31 despreads the plurality of combined signals as a plurality of despread signals. The magnitude device 32 generates a plurality of magnitude values from the plurality of despread signals. The shift register 33 stores a plurality of previous-magnitude values previously generated by the magnitude device 32 and a plurality of present magnitude values presently generated by the magnitude device 32. The comparator 34 compares the previous-magnitude values and the present-magnitude values and, responsive to the comparison, outputs a plurality of comparison signals. The first and second digital delay devices 27, 28 respond to the plurality of comparison signals by lengthening or shortening the plurality of delays.

Abstract: A spread spectrum base station comprising an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit having an input configured to receive a received spread spectrum signal and gain control the received spread spectrum signal to produce a gain controlled signal; a correlation circuit having an input configured to receive the gain controlled signal and correlate the gain controlled signal with a code to produce a despread signal; a power measurement and comparator circuit configured to receive the despread signal and a control level of the AGC circuit and processing at least the despread signal and the control level to produce a processed signal and comparing the processed signal with a threshold to produce a comparison signal, the comparison signal used to produce a power command; and a multiplexer for multiplexing the power command with a signal for transmission over an antenna.
