Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce drastically the switching power needed for moving a slider in the axial direction of a cylinder by always placing the slider on the axis of action of a solenoid. CONSTITUTION:A slider 26 accepts a pair of slide valves 24, 25 which abut on valve seats 19, 20 for sealing the inside from the outside, on both sides of itself, to form a tunnel-shaped flow route. This slider 26 is moved in the axial direction of a cylinder 16 by a solenoid 31, for selecting through ports 20b, 20c connected to a lead-out port 19b, so as to switch a refrigerant route. If the high/low differential pressure of a system is given to the tunnel-shaped flow route, as the slider 26 is kept at the center position without accepting said differential pressure, and also can be always placed on the axis of action of the solenoid 31, the switching power needed for moving the slider 26 in the axial direction of the cylinder 16 can be reduced drastically.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a four port connection valve for a refrigerating cycle with high reliability as to switching operation and operable for switchover at all times by providing a solenoid to be used for moving cylindrical sliders for switching refrigerant passages in the axial direction of the cylinders. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical sliders 24, 25 for switching respective refrigerant passages 21, 22, 23, 17 include a stem 35 having one end fixed through a spring 34, and a solenoid coil 32 is disposed around the stem 35. Therefore, in the above four port connection valve for a refrigerating cycle, energization of the solenoid coil 32 causes the stem 35 to be pulled up, permitting free valve operation even when the air conditioner is stopped, and furthermore improved reliability is obtainable because of its electromagnetic control.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve ease of operation by providing a cylinder for sealing both inside and outside of a valve seat surface by pressure-contacting the valve seat with slide seat rings which is long in the direction of the cylinder axis and by arranging a slider for selectively communicating a discharge port with either of two passage ports while moving within the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:With seat surfaces 19a and 20a fixed within a cylinder 16, a slider 24 is arranged between valve seats 19 and 20 to force slide seat rings 25 and 26 for sealing both inside and outside of the valve seats 19 and 20 against the valve seat surfaces 19a and 20a. By moving the slider 24 in the direction of the cylinder axis, either of the passage ports 20b and 20c are changed over to be communicated with the discharge port 19b. Accordingly, the slider is kept in a neutral point without being affected with forces due to differential pressures of a system so that the forces for changing over the slider can be considerably reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify construction and enhance reliability by arranging between paired valve seats an ellipsoidal slider member for sealing both the inside and outside of the valve seats. CONSTITUTION:In a cylinder 16 is arranged an ellipsoidal slider member 26 having at its both ends paired slide seat rings 27 and 28 of a long ellipsoidal shape with their major axes in the cylinder axis direction for coming into contact with valve seats 19 and 20 and for sealing both the inside and outside of them. Refrigerant loop is switched by alternatively selecting either passages 20b or 20c to be communicated with an outlet 19b by sliding the slider member 26 in the cylinder axis direction. Even if pressure differential between high and low pressures is exerted on the inside or outside of the slider member 26 having an ellipsoidal hollow passage hole, the slider member 26 can be slid in the cylinder axis direction with a small force that can just overcome a planar pressure required of the side seat rings 27 and 28 for performing sealing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase warming capacity of a system, by supplying electricity to a series circuit composed of a coil and a solenoid for directly actuating a slide valve and a positive characteristic thermistor element when warming operation is executed. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 27 directly actuates a slide valve for switching a refrigerant passage. A positive characteristic thermistor element 31, which is coupled with a coil 29 of the solenoid in series, is thermo-exchangeably mounted. Electricity is supplied to the series circuit of the positive characteristic thermistor element 31 of the coil 29 when warming operation is executed. With this arrangement current supplied to the coil 29 of the solenoid 27 becomes large only when the electric supply is initiated so that a valve can be switched with large suction force extracted. In addition, when the warming operation is executed, the amount of heat leakage in the 4 way valve is reduced because an amount of heat generated due to current restriction of the positive characteristic thermistor element 31 is transmitted to a valve assembly.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a four way type valve for a refrigerating cycle formed in a small size with no necessity for a pilot valve further with small consumption of power, by connecting a positive characteristic thermistor element in series to an electromagnetic coil of a solenoid directly driving a sliding valve. CONSTITUTION:If a power supply 32 is turned on, a plunger part 25d of a spool valve 25 is attracted by energizing an electromagnetic coil 29 to a fixed iron core 27 against urging force of a return spring 30, and a four way type valve adapts the second seat valve 25c to a cover 26 to be stopped thereafter reduces an electric current of the coil to a value corresponding to holding torque of the spool valve 25 by the current limiting action of a positive characteristic thermistor element 31 connected in series to the electromagnetic coil 29. As a result, the four way type valve connects a suction pipe 20 with the second refrigerant flow pipe 22 while a delivery pipe 18 also with the first refrigerant flow pipe 21 by the first seat valve 25b and the second seat valve 25c.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a pressure drop generated in a refrigerant passage in a low pressure side, by arranging a suction pipe, connected with the suction side of a compressor, and the first and second refrigerant flow pipes, connected with two heat exchangers, to be brought out in a direction opposite to each other in the side wall of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A spool valve 23, having the first and second ring-shaped seat valves 23b, 23c, slides in a cylinder 14 in in the axial direction. Of the four connection pipes opened inside the cylinder 14, a suction pipe 18, connected with the suction side of a compressor 17, and the first and second refrigerant flow pipes 19, 20, connected with two heat exchangers 21, 22, are brought out in a direction opposite to each other in a side wall of the cylinder. A four way type value, allowing a refrigerant in a low pressure side to almost linearly flow from the first refrigerant flow pipe 19 or the second refrigerant flow pipe 20 through a part between the cylinder 14 and the spool valve 23, enables a pressure drop of the refrigerant to be suppressed to a very small value.

The plates 7, 7' are formed, for example, of stainless steel material having small thermal conductivity, and a silver plating having low contacting resistance is, for example, performed on the elastic plates 7a, 7a' contacted with the thermistor 8. The contacting surfaces of the plates 7, 7' of the thermistor 8 are disposed to oppose to a motor case.
