Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable control of a PMV value to a neutral value in all living areas even when a PMV value is distributed by a method wherein a living area is dividing into a plurality of zones and the PMV values of the zones are individually controlled by a wind direction airflow varying means responding to each zone. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner is provided with a blower 6 to circulate indoor air, a heat exchange means 3 to heat or cool sucked air, a calculating means 25 for a PMV value classified by a zone to divide a living area into a plurality of zones and calculate the PMV value of each zone, wind direction airflow varying means 11a and 11b to vary the wind direction and the airflow of discharged air responding to the respective zones, and wind direction airflow varying control means 26 and 27 to control a plurality of the wind direction airflow varying means 11a and 11b so that the PMV value of each zone is adjusted to a neutral value. This constitution calculates the PMV value without being limited by the installation place of a detecting means 17 and enables rapid control of the PMV value to a neutral value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable rapid and effective control of a PMV value in a total living area to a neutral value by a method wherein a living area is divided into a plurality of zones, individual control is effected by means of a wind direction varying means adaptive to each zone, and a wind direction swing is controlled. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner is provided with an indoor blower 6 to circulate indoor air, a heat exchanging means 3 to heat or cool sucked air, a plurality of wind direction varying means 11a, 11b, 11c, and 11d to vary the wind direction of discharged air, and a plurality of wind direction varying means 29, 30, 31, and 32 to divide a living area into a plurality of zones and control a plurality of the wind direction varying means 11a, 11b, 11c, and 11d so that the PMV value of each zone is adjusted to a neutral value. Thus, when the PMV value is not neutral, through control of the wind direction varying means, wind direction swing is effected so that the PMV value is adjusted to a neutral value. Even when the PMV value is distributed to an air conditioning space, the PMV value is controllable to a neutral value in all living areas.
