    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for measurement of reference signals by an aerial user equipment (UE), and reporting of the measurements to a serving base station. An aerial UE may initiate one or more measurements based on one or more height thresholds, and may transmit measurement reports that provide an indication of height along with measured parameters. An aerial UE may also provide an indication of a number of other aerial UEs or other aerial vehicles that are detected within a vicinity of the aerial UE. Reports of measurements (e.g., reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements) by multiple UEs for multiple different locations and heights may be used to determine coverage maps and/or drone density maps for multiple different heights or altitudes.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for ensuring compatibility between network slice operating frequencies and user equipment (UE) radio capabilities. An example method generally includes receiving, from a network core entity, a request for information about capabilities of a user equipment (UE) and information about a plurality of network slices in an allowed set of network slices for the UE; identifying, based on UE capability information, a subset of the allowed set of network slices that the UE can use for communications between the UE and the network entity; generating a response including at least the subset of the allowed set of network slices that the UE can use for communications between the UE and the network entity; and transmitting the response to the network core entity.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine whether a geographic location code associated with a geographic location of the UE matches a geographic location code in a received message. Based on the determination, the UE may select a non-public network (NPN) function. Additionally or alternatively, a UE may discover or select an NPN function based on determining that legal requirements, such as one or more interception conditions, are independent of the geographic location of the UE. For example, the UE may discover and one or more NPN functions according to a query performed using an NPN function identifier or an NPN identifier. The UE may determine that the NPN function selection (e.g., for a geographic location of the UE) is independent of an interception condition (e.g., associated with the geographic location of the UE).

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) associated with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a cellular terrestrial network may establish a connection with a unified data management (UDM) entity for communications with an unmanned aerial system service supplier (USS). The UE, or an access and mobility management function (AMF), may receive a security configuration from the UDM entity in a non-access stratum transport message. The security configuration may include one or more security credentials that enable communications between the UE and the USS. The AMF may transmit an acknowledgement message indicating the UE successfully received the indication of the security configuration. The UDM may transmit a message to the USS based on receiving the acknowledgment message. The UE may transmit a registration request to the USS. The UE and the USS may communicate according to the security credentials of the security configuration.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a UE with multiple universal subscription identity modules (i.e., a multi-USIM device) or concurrent radio access technology (C-RAT) capabilities to receive and respond to a page from a network of a first USIM of the UE while not activating a receiver on that network by receiving the page (from the network of the first USIM) on a receiver active on a network of a second USIM. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes sending a request to register for paging events in a registration request message to an access and management function (AMF) of a network of a first universal subscriber identifier module (USIM) of the UE; sending a paging public user identifier (PPUID) of the UE, in a protocol data unit (PDU) session, to a paging server via a network of a second USIM of the UE, wherein the paging server is associated with the network of the first USIM; and receiving a message associated with the first USIM via the PDU session or another PDU session via the network of the second USIM.
