Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication and testing. In some aspects, a device may receive information identifying a mount orientation of a wireless communication device, wherein the mount orientation indicates an orientation of a coordinate system of the wireless communication device relative to a coordinate system of a positioner. The device may capture measurement information at each position of a set of positions of the wireless communication device, wherein the set of positions comprises positions of the wireless communication device as the wireless communication device is rotated around an axis by the positioner, and wherein the measurement information is captured based at least in part on the mount orientation. The device may provide information identifying the measurement information. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may use the measurement information to generate a codebook for beam generation. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for selecting a PRACH occasion (RO) based on downlink quality, access congestion, latency (e.g., time to next available RO), beam correspondence, random access in previous transmissions, or combinations of these factors. The user equipment (UE) may detect access congestion of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) and select the less congested SSB in the RO selection. The UE may detect the access congestion by receiving a back-off indicator from the base station, detecting a contention resolution failure, or the number or media access control (MAC) subheaders in a random access response. In some cases, the ROs associated with different SSBs have different latencies and the UE may select the earliest available RO.

Abstract: An apparatus (e.g., a UE) may be configured to configure a plurality of orthogonal scrambling codes corresponding to a plurality of antenna panels of the UE and perform, for a first SSB transmission, a beam sweeping operation over a set of first beams for each antenna panel in the plurality of antenna panels, where, for a transmitted first signal in each symbol of the first SSB transmission, each antenna panel in the plurality of antenna panels receives the transmitted first signal via a beam in the set of first beams using an orthogonal scrambling code in the plurality of orthogonal scrambling codes corresponding to the antenna panel.

Abstract: Techniques and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may identify a set of beam level selection parameters. The set of beam level selection parameters may include traffic information, channel information, application information, or any combination thereof. The communication device may select, based on the identified set of beam level selection parameters, a beam level, from a set of beam levels, different from a baseline beam level associated with the wireless communication. The selected beam level may be associated with a number of antenna elements different from a number of antenna elements associated with the baseline beam level. The communication device may perform the wireless communication based on the selected beam level.

The UE may receive, in response to the transmitted request, control signaling identifying the uplink reference signal resources for the beam training procedure. The UE may transmit, using a set of multiple of beams, reference signals on the identified uplink reference signal resources and receive, in response to the transmitted reference signals, an indication of beam parameters for a beam at the UE. The UE may communicate with the base station using the beam at the UE according to the beam parameters.
