    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for selecting a PRACH occasion (RO) based on downlink quality, access congestion, latency (e.g., time to next available RO), beam correspondence, random access in previous transmissions, or combinations of these factors. The user equipment (UE) may detect access congestion of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) and select the less congested SSB in the RO selection. The UE may detect the access congestion by receiving a back-off indicator from the base station, detecting a contention resolution failure, or the number or media access control (MAC) subheaders in a random access response. In some cases, the ROs associated with different SSBs have different latencies and the UE may select the earliest available RO.

    Abstract: Techniques and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may identify a set of beam level selection parameters. The set of beam level selection parameters may include traffic information, channel information, application information, or any combination thereof. The communication device may select, based on the identified set of beam level selection parameters, a beam level, from a set of beam levels, different from a baseline beam level associated with the wireless communication. The selected beam level may be associated with a number of antenna elements different from a number of antenna elements associated with the baseline beam level. The communication device may perform the wireless communication based on the selected beam level.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a first throughput on a first beam of the UE, wherein the first beam is associated with a first number of antenna elements. The UE may identify an estimated maximum throughput of the UE. The UE may communicate, based at least in part on the first throughput being greater than the estimated maximum throughput, using a second beam, the second beam having a second throughput that is greater than the estimated maximum throughput, and the second beam being associated with a second number of antenna elements lesser than the first number of antenna elements.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) receiving a first set of multiple sets of synchronization signal block (SSB) signals from a network entity. The first set of multiple sets of SSB signals may be associated with a first antenna port of the network entity corresponding to a first polarization. Additionally, the UE may receive a second set of multiple sets of SSB signals from the network entity. The second set of multiple sets of SSB signals may be associated with a second antenna port of the network entity corresponding to a second polarization. The UE may then transmit an indication of a beam pair for communication between the UE and the network entity based at least in part on receiving the first set of multiple sets of SSB signals and the second set of multiple sets of SSB signals.
