    Abstract: The absorbent article includes a belt (9,9') attached to a back (6) and front (5) portions of the absorbent article so that the article assumes a pantlike shape. The belt forms part of the waist portion of the pant and has two belt halves (9,9') that at one of their ends are permanently attached to the topsheet within bonding areas (13,13') on the insides (12,12') of the waist portion via reinforcement pieces so that the belt halves remain substantially flat along their entire length when brought against the topsheet on top of each other. The joints (14,14') that are formed at the bonding areas are pressed outwards in directions away from the user when the absorbent article is used. An Independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing the above absorbent article.

    Abstract: An absorbent article comprises an absorption body (104) having an absorption layer (124) which is shaped by a material on both sides of two cut edges (126, 127) being moved at right angles to a slit and being locked in the moved position. An absorbent article with longitudinal and transverse directions comprises an absorption body enclosed in a cover. The cover has a fluid-(im)permeable surface (102, 103). The absorption body comprises an absorption layer(s) exhibiting a penetrating slit with a first cut edge and a second cut edge. The absorption layer is shaped by a material on both sides of the two cut edges being moved at right angles to the slit and being locked in the moved position. An Independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing an absorption layer for use in an absorbent article comprising supplying the absorption layer with a penetrating slit to form first and second cut edges. The slit absorption layer is led over a concave or a convex surface, where the cut edges are made to move in a direction at right angles to the slit.

    Abstract: An absorbent article'such as a pair of absorbent pants, a nappy, an incontinence protection article or the like having a substantially elongated shape is provided. The absorbent article includes a front waist region, a rear waist region and a crotch region positioned therebetween having two leg edge-portions. The absorbent article includes an inner fluid-permeable layer, a fluid-barrier layer and an absorbent core enclosed therebetween. The article also includes elastic elements which are arranged along four different paths.
