    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical device which facilitates the reduction of a size and weight and has excellent light transparency. SOLUTION: A photosensitive polyimide solution is applied on a substrate 1 and after its solvent is evaporated by heating, the coating is etched to a desired shape by photolithography. The final firing of the photosensitive polyimide 3 is thereafter executed in a vacuum. The easy manufacture of the optical device having a high transmittance of light and small loss is made possible and the adaptation to the optical devices using various kinds of organic high polymers formed on the substrate 1 is made possible.

SOLUTION: In an optical communication device 20 connectable to an optical fiber 1, a transmitting-light waveguide 4 connected to a semiconductor laser 2 and a receiving-light waveguide 5 connected to a photodiode 3 are installed away from each other optically. The end face 9 of the transmitting waveguide 4 which emits transmitting light 21 and the end face 8 of the incident area of the optical fiber 1 which is irradiated with the transmitting light 21 are provided, in the manner that the optical axis of the transmitting light 21 and the normal of the end face 8 of the incident area are mutually inclined, so that the reflected light 23 of the transmitting light 21 at the end face 8 is suppressed in entering the photodiode 3 arranged side by side with the semiconductor laser 2.

SOLUTION: An ink feeder 3 feeds an UV-curing ink 4 to an intermediate transfer body 2. An UV-curing head irradiates the UV-curing ink 4 on the intermediate transfer body 2 with ultraviolet rays and cures the UV-curing ink 4 selectively according to an image pattern. A platen 9 brings a recording medium 6 into contact with the intermediate transfer body 2 and tfansfers uncured UV-curing ink 4 to the recording medium 6. A fixing/curing unit 7 cures the ink transferred onto the recording medium 6. An ink removing unit 8 removes residual ink on the intermediate transfer body 2.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the dynamic characteristics, durability, etc., of the head by forming a buckling structure, as a pressure producing means, on a substrate and fixing a diaphragm thereon through a coupling member and then removing a film layer thereby obtaining a diaphragm having flat surface. SOLUTION: Silicon oxide containing phosphorus (PSG layer) is deposited on the surface and rear of a single crystal silicon substrate 8 having orientation (100). A resist pattern is then formed thereon followed by formation of a nickel layer at the unpatterned part thus forming a buckling structure 1 of nickel layer. Subsequently, a PGS layer is formed in the center of buckling structure 1, a resist pattern is formed and eventually removed thus forming a coupling member 4. Finally, a diaphragm 2 previously deposited on a film having flat surface is fixed through the coupling member 4 to the buckling structure 1 and the film layer is removed to obtain the ink jet head.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve chemical resistance and heat conductivity by having a heater formed of a metal film and an insulating film of covering the heater, forming in this insulating a contact side with a heater metal of an SiOy film, forming a contact side with the outside atmosphere of an SiNx film, and enhancing adhesion to the metal film. SOLUTION: An insulating film is formed into a two-layer structure in both upper/lower part of a heater, to provide a structure of laminating SiNx film 3, 4 and SiOy films 5, 6. A contact side with the outside atmosphere is set to the SiNx films 3, 4, and a contact side with a heater metal 9 is set to the SiOy films 5, 6. This insulating film is formed as follows. First as a bed insulating film, the SiNx film 3 in formed by reactive sputtering of Ar and O2 by using a sputter device of Si target on a substrate. Next on the SiNx film 3, a sputter device of Si target is used to form the SiOy film 5 by reactive sputtering of Ar and O2 . Next a heater layer 9 is formed. On the film 5, metal for a heather, for instance, Ni is molded by sputtering method, next to be worked by photolithography and etching method, to from a heater pattern 9, so as to similarly form on this pattern the SiOy film 6 and SiNx film 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high speed recording device with a reduced access time by possessing a recording medium formed on a transparent substrate and a slider having aerodynamically an objective lens on the other side surface. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium 102 is constituted on the back side of the transparent substrate 101, and for this medium 102, a magneto-optical medium, etc., are used in appliance of the magneto-optical effect. The floating slider 103 is floated from the substrate 101 in accordance with rotation of the substrate 101 in the rotating direction R, and is held under noncontact keeping a minute gap. This floating ant. is a fixed value depending upon the rotating speed of the substrate 101 and the weight of the slider 103. Then, since the medium 102 is on the reflecting side across the objective lens of the substrate 101, as to focus, a thickness error of the substrate 101 is an out-of-focus ant. In order to adjust this focus, a cantilever 104 is provided to be integrally constituted with the floating slider 103, and its tip is fixed with the objective lens 105, and the focus is adjusted by bending the cantilever 104 with a piezoelectric element 106.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the adverse effect caused by external vibration by providing a non recording region which has no projecting and recessing parts and a recording region which is located adjacent to the n'& recording region. CONSTITUTION:A tip 7 is formed at the tip of a probe 6 and a recording is performed by the tip 7. The surface of a recording medium 8 is divided into two kinds of regions 9 and 10. The region 9 is a non recording region in which no recording is made by STM and the region 10 is a recording region. The surface of the medium 8 is divided into the two kinds of regions in the direction of the recording and these regions are alternatively placed. In the region 9, no recording is done and an STM current is detected. In the region 10, address information of signals or information signals themselves are recorded. If a grinding is done to this surface so that the coarseness of the surface is kept less than 1nm, the probe is well controlled even though an STM current is discretely detected by taking the sampling frequency to be larger than the spatial frequency band of the substrate waviness.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformly etch a thick-film nickel and to obtain a fine nickel pattern of high working accuracy by stirring and rotating a liq. etchant having specified contents of nitric acid, aq. hydrogen peroxide and water to generate vortex. CONSTITUTION:Nickel is etched with a liq. etchant contg. 11-26% nitric acid, 9-15% aq. hydrogen peroxide and the balance water, an ethcing device provided with a stirrer is used for the etching, and etchingis conducted by dipping. In this case, the surface of the vortex generated from the stirring and rotating surface of the etchant is preferably kept almost in parallel (180+ or -40 deg.) with the surface of a material to be etched.
