When the platen 2 rotates in one direction and the controlled part 14 of the paper bail member 10 rides over the cam part 19 of the cam member 17, a gap is provided between the paper bail section 13 and the paper bail face 7. When the platen 2 rotates further in one direction, the controlled part 14 is removed from the cam part 19 and the paper bail part 13 comes into resilient contact with the paper bail face 7. According of this constitution, all operations including positional control of the paper bail member 10 and winding of paper around the platen 2 can be carried out only through the rotary operation of the platen 2.
